I'm having difficulty with this one - getting the Japan Only error. I've about given up searching since it seems nobody knows how to make it work without Japanese hardware. Anybody here have some secret skills?

I encounter no such thing? It installs & runs just fine with the locale set to Japanese (Control Panel > Region > Administrative > Change System Locale: Japanese).

I have tried that as well as 'Run with Japanese locale as administrator.'

My issue I'm having now is when I try to load the game I get 'Reading initialization file failed.'

Barring any data corruptions, that rather sounds like your PC doesn't recognize Japanese characters. Try renaming the folder(s) to something which doesn't contain Japanese characters.

That actually fixed it, thank you so much. The studio folder was in English, but the title of the game's folder was Japanese. I'm glad it was something simple, so thank you again. Will enjoy this one!
