I honestly wish there were more otomes with MC that have super distinctive character traits. I'm not a self-inserter at all and I feel like a MC with a unique personality explains the devotion of her LIs
I remember seeing funny edits of the Diabolik Lovers anime back in 2020 and they were hilarious. They would add kpop songs over certain scenes and put old vine memes over them and that was what got me playing the original games ヽ(゜∇゜)ノ
I feel like it keeps me going! Even if the rest of the game is a total drag, finding out who the Secret LI is motivates me to get through all the routes just to see who he is. I'm pretty oblivious to clues and it generally flies over my head so when I find out the secret guy it's pretty exciting
I think otome games are more willing to explore certain taboos and offer a form of escapism that I don't find in any other type of media. After all, it's fiction! And I find that otome games are more willing to push the boundaries of that.
So far, I think the art of the Hana Awase games are beautiful and really unique. But, I've found they're kind of divisive online! The artists' style kind of reminds me of the anime Doukyusei
I find that the bad, tragic endings usually stick with me more than the happy ones. I think the "doom" makes story so much more interesting which is why I think the more ANGST the better ◤(¬‿¬)◥
I'm fairly loyal when I choose something and usually stick with one game at a time. I do get easily bored though so I tend to drop the game and find something else midway through ^^
If there ever happens to be game with a yandere MC -- involve me. Immediately. I can't think of any yandere MCs off the top of my head and it feels like such a unique concept! (°∀°)
The Secret RO from 7'Scarlet -- just super jarring and the romance in that route felt so forced and exaggerated. I don't mind the forbidden aspect at all but there is no build up for the kind of devotion the LI has so it just feels very uncomfortable (o_-)
I always check the route order regardless of whether or not I'm playing with a guide -- and it really depends if it's a more slice of life game or something heavier. If it's slice of life I'll go in blind because how bad can the bad endings get lol
Majima from Butterfly's Poison. Everything leading up in the game has to do with Majima's relationship with the MC and you find out the hand he's had in almost every single route!
I wouldn't get into a 10 mile radius of any of the Piofiore guys because of their choice in profession lol. The Him, the Smile & Bloom guys would all probably be lovely. Mafia bosses or guys that work with flowers? I'm picking the flower shop guys every time (^з^)-☆
It's never truly the same, no matter what certain companies try to convince audiences with. It feels icky to use the art of professionals and human beings and then to turn around use AI in the same breath. I'd rather having overused models or outlines to create games rather than soulless machine...
