I prefer for there to be growing feelings fairly early that they don't take too long to get together, but I don't want the fact they're together to be the end, I want their feelings and trust to grow even more over time. I don't want miscommunication and misunderstandings to drive them apart.
Once I get emotionally attached to the characters it's hard to part with them until the game inevitably gets hit with EoS, precisely because they're ephemeral that I put more priority into playing them while my backlog of other otome games grow. I am not a fan of the gacha aspect though.
I prefer MC with face/eyes. I'd buy a game just because I find the MC cute even if I'm not interested in any of the LIs. I don't self-insert.
It's odd how the LIs would comment that the MC's eyes are pretty and then the CG would show the MC eyeless.
I'm fine with faceless MC if it makes sense...
"What in Hell is Bad?" (This is an 18+ mobile gacha game that also got a 10+ version on app stores in addition to the 17+ version somehow.)
I really wanted to like the game but it was bad and just kept getting worse. Battles were bugged that I had to replay a level several times because my...
I made an account there but it's a bit hard to use.
For some games I had to copy the exact title from VNDB for it to show up at all.
Would like to be able to favorite side characters too.
It's missing non-VN otome that aren't on VNDB.
It wouldn't let me add an ending if it thought the name of...
I hate when AI is used at all but I might give it a chance if they're very clear about how and where it's used. I hate it even more when it's not disclosed. The biggest no-no for me is when AI use gets pointed out with evidence of it but the dev denies it without providing their own proof or...
I like a few. I think they're closer to Japanese indie games than commercial Japanese otome games. I like that most of them tend of be on the shorter side. The thing I don't like is that a lot of them are demos for game jams or for Kickstarter, and then are never finished.
Pacthesis games will...
I don't mind if it only happens a few times and far between. I very much mind if there are many choices, like after every few lines and none of them matter.
I used to play without a walkthrough but after seeing the MC and/or LI in some games die/suffer over and over, I'm pretty much too anxious to play without one anymore. The exception is if it's easy enough to get all the endings without one or there simply isn't one available.
I have so many otome and BL favorites >w<
I love the songs from Ikemen Live to bits, I'm so sad the app is EOS and never even got an English release.
My newest otome favorite is the theme song for Crazy Chain, Amour Chain by HAGANE
Both are good, I like both. I did get into BL first before otome so I definitely lean more into liking BL. It's rare for an otome MC to be voiced so BL is better in that sense.
I played the OG LD1 and some of the spinoffs but back then I didn't know any Japanese so I was struggling before I started following terracannon's translations. My character ranking would be Gian, Giulio, Bernardo, Luchino, Ivan. I always loved it whenever I heard Giulio say "Gian-san". For the...
I'll want to play if I like the art/character designs(especially the MC), if I like the VAs, if it's not poorly translated, and if it's not made using AI.
I prefer happy ends. If I know a game only has tragic/sad endings I probably won't play it. That has not changed over the years. There have been times when I thought the game's happy ending was not the best ending. I think the biggest tragedy is when a beloved side character sacrifices/loses...
