Have you used Mandarake, the figures their seem to be a lot cheaper since you order them directly from the vendors in Japan. But some of their items are used/open, so you have to read the description of each item
Also, just bought Leviathan from Mandarake. Should receive her in a few weeks.
Yeah, New York is in the East Coast, while Chicago is in the Midwest, so pretty far. I'm guessing at least a 12 hour drive or so.
Do you ever come to Chicago at all? Or any major cities in the Midwest (Milwaukee, Minneapolis, Detroit) if so let me know, we can meet up and do something.

Hope you have a good time at the convention. Find some good figures! Watch out for bootlegs though, sometimes they come in original looking packaging.
I missed Anime Central this year in Chicago :( it's the biggest anime convention in the Midwest of the U.S., it's always in Chicago, well, it's always in the Chicago area anyway http://www.acen.org, I will have to wait for next year :( still got comic con though.

Yeah, I think purple looks better as well. I'm gonna get her soon cause her price keeps increasing, she is also getting hard to find. But I will pay $100 for her I think she is worth that.

EDIT: The one with blonde hair is a preorder item, it releases next year in January. The one with purple hair is incredibly hard to find at a decent price, they are selling for about $200 online. But I found one on this site for $100 https://www.nippon-yasan.com so I picked her up! Should be receiving her in 2-3 weeks. I am also getting the blonde hair version next year, maybe have them next to each other or something.

They haven't announced the vendors yet for the Comic Con since its in August, but hopefully we get some good ones. I went to the Comic Con in Texas when I was visiting my brother and they had a ton of vendors. Lots of vendors selling figures, artist selling autograph sketches, and just other random stuff like that, they were all fairly priced though. Well, expect for the food in the cafeteria hall :/ that was insanely priced, so I had to drive my nephew his "girlfriend" (he is only 10 lol) to a restaurant to eat, then return after that.

Yeah, it's a hard choice lol. If they both released on separate months I would get both, but they both release in June, so I am only getting one. I also like lighter colors better, but I think the Bahamut figure has better sculpting and detail. Well, I have a few weeks to decide.
