I feel like I can tolerate pretty much any character trope… imprisonment, yandere behavior, betrayal, etc. But what I can't stand is when a story throws in angst just for the sake of making the characters suffer, without any good writing to back it up.

Is there any story or character traits / behaviour that gave you a big turn off?

- Elder brother/father type of LIs, who saw MC as a little girl, and now want to have sex relationship with her. Not my kink. 😔
- Type of games, where in true end you understand, that it's impossible to achieve happiness in every other ending. Why did I read it then? Why do they have happy ending vibes when it's all an illusion? If you don't want to give other guys their real good ends, just make one single good ending, like in Hana Awase games 🙃

To be honest, some game storylines, such as those that start well but become less appealing as the game progresses, with messy storytelling and few romantic scenes or interactions between the male and female leads, are what I dislike the most! I also really don't like the plot where the male lead uses the female lead as a stunt double! I will give up playing this game directly. The boring plot will only make people feel anxious and frustrated.

Having played several otome games this year, I've identified what I truly cannot stand:

- I hate love interests (LIs) who are womanizers and remain that way throughout their route.
- I hate routes involving brothers, uncles, or any other family members—though I might make an exception for stepbrothers, but only in very specific cases.
- A poorly written route that lacks character development—the kind that developers like Otomate include simply because they feel the need to have five or more love interests.
- A slow-moving plot.

When the LI you do turns out to be one who has damaged/hurt Heroine's family or hometown!!!!! I hate this soo much....it anger me and saddens me...no redemption can redeem it for me. Nononono.:boys_no:

I can't accept that the screenwriter can't explain the opportunity, process, and even the real reason behind the character's personality change.

For example, why did the male protagonist's personality change so much that he abused, imprisoned and controlled the female protagonist, suddenly got angry, and suddenly begged for forgiveness, etc.

Players or listeners can't agree with the superficial reason that "I love you too much and care about you too much, so my emotions are out of control for a moment. It's not intentional". Whether it is the original background of the family or the history of physical and mental pain in the past, as long as it is not perfunctory.

I'm not really a fan of love interests with fearful-avoidant tendencies.
When that kind of dynamic shows up in a story, it makes me really anxious — it honestly ruins my mood. I'm not saying it can't be part of a character's personality, but in a relationship, it really messes with my head. You get this bold, direct pursuit, and the response is just... pulling away.

I have heard that there are BL elements in Virche, which is why I took it off my buy list. (If the info is false, please correct it.) I have nothing against BL, but Otome is about the woman, and I don't like it deviating from that. I don't want to be in the cuck chair xD

I don't like it when a male character hates the heroine for getting close to her family, her brothers, or her friends. Is that love? :punchout:
Or when he has a fiancé for most of the story:angvoodoo: and falls in love with the heroine,:menft: and they are together throughout the whole story ? can you start by breaking off the engagement :shockmenft:and then shift your attention to loving the heroine:forsaken:.

A "landmine" type female leads such as excessively arrogant, or too much of a "spoiled rich girl" attitude.
I can't accept a betrayal without warning, contains BL elements.:miku_ng:

Btw I don't think Virche has that! Many ppl IMHO mistakenly take men being close to each other as being BL. For example one of my most loved Manga orenchi no furou jiro many people say is BL even though the main characters have been established to be interested in women?! To me it's just pure sweet brotherhood not BL...but to each their own...?

- Plot Contrivances ; Dont Just Make Characters Do Dumb Things To Move The Plot
- Bromance ; I Like Group Bonding , But Not When The MC Just Watches A Shounen Homo Rivalry
- Key Remapping ; Especially On PC , Let Me Enable My Lazy Mode Controls

It Does , Thats The Main Point In Any Negative Reviews . I Loved Virche , But That Part Really Brought Down My Enjoyment Of A Solid Route . Dont Like Having To Deal With An Annoying Love Rival To Put It Simply

Its There , Its In
Yves Route With Hugo
.
Yves Doesnt Reciporcate Or Even Acknowleges It
From What I Remember , But In The
True Route He Goes On A Trip With Hugo
.

That Element And Character Are Very Much Disliked , Which Is Saying Something When
Cappucino
Exists !

If there are millions of little plot holes spread throughout the game. It gets so annoying keeping track with the storyline only for some elements to not line up😔

For example, if the heroine just hurt her leg in one scene, why is she doing cartwheels and back flips in the next? Shouldn't there be some indicator of the passage of time, or a scene of her gettin patched up?🤨🤨 Idk I just don't like the lack of consistency in some those otome games lol.

I can't really tolerate any yandere or those Tsundere characters it's just annoying plus idea a guy being very obsessed with you and will kill anything in their way or yours it's big no
