Do you prefer owning otome games physically or digitally?

In theory I would prefer physical copies especially with how often companies can simply remove the content with no legal way of preserving it. However in practice I do prefer digital partially because of convenience and partially because it is a lot more accessible to me since my country doesn't really sell a lot of physical copies, especially of otomes.
 
The physical version should always be preferred, if only for the sake of preserving the medium.
However, I should add a caveat: the physical format is not eternal either, in the sense that cartridges, CDs, and the like can deteriorate over time. Therefore, it is necessary to be able to make a "digital" copy of this version and store it in multiple locations to minimize the risk of loss.
 
I'm definitely more of a physical collector when possible. I just like having something tangible to show for the games I buy, especially with otome since it's such a niche genre. That said, digital is sooo much more convenient, and I can't deny that sales make it tempting lol. So I guess physical for my favorites, digital for everything else
 
Physical releases only ｡ﾟ(ﾟ´ω`ﾟ)ﾟ｡
It's tough, especially seeing all the sales on the eShop, but I'm all for media preservation and just can't bring myself to buy digitally most of the time, even more so when I'm not sure if I'll like the game. I like to try them out first and spend money only when I'm sure I won't end up disappointed, and with physical release, worst case, I can always just sell them.
 
Swapping discs is a hassle and finding a place to store them is a pain, so I generally buy the digital versions.
 
I'd much, much, much prefer owning otome games physically if they weren't so much more expensive compared to digital copies. I'm a huge collector of everything I like, so having physical copies gives me a lot more satisfaction.
 
I like physical copies because they're collectible, but digital ones are cheaper and more convenient.

As much as I love physical copies and told myself I would get that version rather than digital. Unfortunately I can't pass up a good sale and most of the time its digitally so I'm ending up with more digital than physical.
 
I prefer physical copies because they give me more of a sense that I'm actually collecting the games.
However, I do think digital versions are more convenient, and I often buy them when they're on sale.
 
Most of the time I go for digital and if it's the title I like so much I will buy both versions.
 
Always physical for me unless the release is digital-only. In the age of "owning but not owning" things I like to try and futureproof myself as much as possible for when digital storefronts inevietably shutter.

I personally prefer physical editions because they're great for collecting,especially art books. Having a physical art book in my collection is truly wonderful and gives me a real sense of satisfaction.

If it's a game I really love then yes I would buy the physical. But digital is really more convenient imo especially with sales.

On my PC, I have digital versions (I'm not sure if physical copies of otome games for PC are even still available—what I mean is that the game comes on a physical medium, not just as a code on Steam), and for consoles, I try to buy physical copies (unless I find a really good deal on the digital version).
 
Although I would love to have a physical collection, having a digital is more accessible and cheaper. It's been a while since I bought any physical game.
 
I prefer physically, it's nice to have the game in my hands. With how digital downloads are nowadays they can disappear with or without reason. If I get it physically it's here to stay forever. Also I do like to collect and put my games in a shelf, so it is nice to see my otome collections!

I would really love to have physical copies of my games for console so that I could have more to display in my otome collection but sadly there's not a lot of otome physical copies sold where I'm from 😔 So I just stick to digital because I get to access more games (even ones only exclusive in JP) and for the discounts or sale the eshop holds.
 
Digital is nice and convenient but the paranoid freak in me always wonders about how many games we'd lose if all of these servers just went down. That's why you can't go wrong with physical, actually owning the games feels great.
 
I would like to own physical copies as well, but I sometimes find them a bit difficult to store because I don't always have enough space for them. So I mostly end up buying digital versions instead, since they're convenient and don't take up any physical space.
 
Honestly, I do miss having physical copies of games like I did when I was younger, but it's just so much simpler and more convenient to get them digitally. Between places like Steam, Epic, and GOG - plus being able to just, pop on DLSite and get a Japanese game without any fight or issue... and then, of course, discounts. The sales can be absolutely ridiculous, which is by my play-count is like, 400 games, and my own-count is like 1200 :oops:
 
I generally prefer digital because it's just more convenient! 😂 I only really want physical copies when an otome becomes one of my absolute favourites, which honestly doesn't happen that often. 🥹
