Amnesia, like many users here, was my first proper otome game. Played it when the English translation was published, since back then my Japanese language comprehension was basically non-existent

I personally do not like faceless protagonists.
I understand the logic behind it, but it still looks awkward and the differences in detail between the FMC and the LIs is not something appealing to look at imho.
Though there haven't been much otoge with faceless FMCs in recent times? I guess...
LIs based on historical people are interesting not because of who they were, but how the writer/team behind the game portrays them. It gives a bit of an insight on how they see or wish the one(s) they wrote about were seen by others... or just take a peak at how some cultures see certain people...

Like most people here, I don't self-insert so I prefer FMCs with a set story and personality. I wouldn't turn away from playing an otomege if the MC has the personality of a doormat (can it can also turn funny in a way), but the LIs have to make up for it, otherwise it's not worth playing imo...
