If there is recommended route order, I always follow it. Then again, I always use a walkthrough to make sure I unlock all the content. They usually list the order in which to play the routes.

The ones I dislike the most are womanizers and tsunderes (lol, why would I want LI to humiliate and insult me?!)

I prefer a common route that's long enough to introduce all the LIs. Overly long common routes only cause me boredom and irritation.
