I usually follow walkthroughs during the common route and stick to the recommended route order. After that, I tend to play blind. I really love how the story unfolds, so I prioritize that. Sometimes, after finishing all the routes, I replay the common route and try to see which route I'd end up...

I'm a completionist, so yes. Even though I tend to dislike some characters (I'm sorry 😭), I still try to finish their routes. But hey, there are times when I end up liking them after finishing their routes, even if I didn't like them at first, so it's worth trying ^^

I think it depends on the trope. I don't mind rival characters, but if the LI is more of a womanizer type, that's when I tend to dislike them even more. I'm more of a plot-focused reader, so if the rival character contributes a lot to the story, I sometimes end up liking them.
