What's the difference between otome cds with different letters in their codes?

There are some with codes that start with B and some that start with R and I've always wondered what's the real difference between them.
I mean the prices aren't that much different, and it's not like that they have seiyuus specializing in those that start with B codes anymore?
I've also noticed that those that start with B codes sell in platforms other than dl, like stellar or poke.
Is there any other real difference except that those with B are often belong a certain series and specific circles?
Does anyone know what's the difference? Maybe before covid and a long time ago did they used to only release in hard copy cds?

But since then, they decided to changed it into download platforms and also expanding their works in DLsite (idk if official labels also sell their works in lovecul, just know some of doujin circles moved there)

I wonder why audio works with the BJ codes don't have age rating though. I assume a lot of them are R18 because of the tags. For example they have tags such as 中出し, 乳首/乳輪 which makes it very obvious which age group they're targeting, but the store page doesn't separate them into age categories. Some tags are less obvious than others, and they lean more into story-telling which makes it a little confusing. I don't know if there's some hidden rule of thumb in the industry that I'm not aware of. Maybe all official label works are R18, thus age rating is unncessary on the stores...?

The doujin works with RJ codes at minimum have 全年齢, R15 or R18. It's super useful for browsing different works based on my current mood. Not that I really mind the separation between all-age works and R18, but more options to choose from is always appreciated lol.
