Do you like secret love interests or not?

I actually like when there is extra LIs, specially if i enjoyed the game. It feels like extra time in the world and with the story and i appreciate it.
 
Yess, they always look interesting to know, and I'm always excited to reach their route 🔥
 
I love them! More handsome guys for me to date, I don't see why not. The secret adds an element of surprise too. There are honestly too many good-looking side characters that I would love to get routes for in otome games, but I become disappointed when they really have no route :(
 
I like secret love interests, but they are really not a secret if you use guides for the games and see who has a route.

I like them, but only if they're written and hidden well enough ;Dc Such a shame their routes are usually shorter though.

Exactly this. Especially when you are short on time, you don't want to spend time unnecesarily on routes you don't really like just to unlock a character
 
I enjoy them especially if they are heavily tied to the plot, though rarely are they secret cause I'm a VNDB fiend and enjoy a good spoiler or two. 🤭
 
I will say now that I am halfway through 9 RIP, I am excited to see how the secret route will progress, this is my first time being actually excited to see a secret route. I hope it doesn't dissapoint!

I never played Ukyo's route, I'm not sure I just can't get myself to do it even though I have friends who tell me to. ;-;
 
I like secret love interest if THAT character is just the one that i want to get XD
For exampleee, Yoshiwara Higanbana, when the MC appears for the first time, besides her there was a man (i dont remember his name)
but i thought he was also one of the LIs... and then just... he wasnt lol

And then, i understand that in the switch version his route is open ~

Sometimes when i was playing an otome game, i just dont get why a secondary character is so handsome, and isnt an available route!!!!
but then, OH, HE WAS A SECRET LOVE INTEREST! XD
So yeah, sometimes the developers wouldnt draw a handsome character for nothing :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

I do like them! I think it's always a nice little treat after finishing all the routes and getting to romance a character that you couldn't touch before! A secret LI route that I liked was in Cupid Parasite but I did wish that you could of chosen anwsers in it as I felt a little sad not being able to choose a choice or getting an extra cg for like a good ending.
 
Sometimes I love a good Serect route like dead lover or best friend coming back I love that but personally I think most of the time serect routes are more toxic like most secret LI are yanderes or the more dangerous and evil type of characters.

I love *really* secret ones where it's a mechanic you would have *no* idea that there is one. TMGS does one so perfectly.

I also adore them because, lots of the time, the character is a different trope or plotline that they experiment with or is a bit out of the norm.
 
I love the hidden characters too! The feeling of excitement when you think you've finished the main characters' routes and then a message or voice message announces they've been unlocked is incredible!

Once I start playing through their routes, I can't see anyone but them.
 
I'm all for secret LIs, but it's such a letdown when their route is shorter. If they end up being my favorite, I just wish they had as much screen time and development as the others!

I second this! I like a lot of secret LIs, but their route tend to be short or disconnect from the game's plot.
 
I love secret LI, almost all of the game I have played, they always die, protect mc, love mc in all of the timeline, and I'm a sucker for these type of LI lmao.
 
Secret routes are so fun to find organically its a fun little surprise that really spices things up (≖ᴗ≖✿)
 
It's nice, especially if it's being hidden really good (cough verite cough). On other hand, their route can be rushed or being there only for the plot :(
