What you do with the games played?

Hello fellow hoarders, I do the same as many of you: once I finish playing a game, I delete it but save the zip file to my hard drive. I have one specifically for games, although I only keep the ones I know I'll play again.

起初我会把他们留在电脑上,但后来为了下新游戏只能删除,把存档存在网盘里。•᎔•

Initially, I would keep them on my computer, but later, to download new games, I had to delete them and save the save files on a cloud drive.•᎔•

i delete them to save space because unfortunately i am not the type to replay completed games, even if i like them TT

I delete everything I finish. I already have a bajillion other games in my backlog that I keep downloaded/in .zip folders for convenience, which leaves me with very little storage space at all times.

Sadly, I get bored fast and often jump games ;-; so I take forever to finish anything ;-;

Until I don't need more space on external HDD I keep played games here but when I need that space then I start delete process. (Ideally I would want to hoard them x_x)

I delete the main game but keep the save files for one day I want to revisit them again, which is not because I have QUITE a backlog to finish...
If that the game I really like, I keep the main game too

I keep the titles and some favorites on cloud storage, delete the game if i think i wont replay it :Dc

I feel like Gollum in this regard. I carefully keep my precious things in two copies on two different hard drives.

It depends. If I liked the game, then I choose to save it to my computer's hard drive to relive the good times (applies to all platforms). If it was boring or I didn't like it, I delete it completely.

i don't have much storage on my computer, so unfortunately I can't hoard them and have to delete most of them once I finish :(

not that i'll need them, i usually don't replay games, but for some reason it's painful to delete them anyway lol

I'll keep the save data and store it on the hard drive. Even if I think I might not play it again, I just can't bring myself to delete the data itself.

I saved the zip file after finishing the game, just in case I miss it and want to play it again in the future.

I can totally understand youuuu!!
I'm using the free space that google drive or Mega gives to save my favorite games XD
(Just in case my computer suddenly shuts down one day)

The rest of the games i will try to write reviews or score it in VNDB so i can remember i've played this game before.

I keep them all, including old games. Unless I found the game too short or didn't like the story, I don't see a problem in deleting them; in fact, my HD is almost full because of that. I'm already looking at another HD to store more in the future.
:akazukin_pat:

My HD is almost full too T-T
I'm a heavy hoarder, and when i told to my brother that i dont have anymore storage in the computer, he was in shock like ''hey, but you have 1TB of storage?! What did you use it for?''

And i was like ''w-well, in many things?... (all are visual novels lol)''
I still dont get the difference between HDD and SSD lol

HDD and SSD, in my understanding, are reading/writing speed
Most modern PCs use M.2 SSDs for booting Windows and installing programs.
SATA SSDs and HDDs are primarily used for data storage.
The choice then depends on your needs: do you want more storage or faster read speeds?
SSDs are more expensive.

Apologies if the information is incorrect.🙇‍♀️

I just delete them, because I don't have much storage on my notebook.. Someday I'll buy HDD and save them all there, 100% cleared otome games are my little achievements ( ◠‿◠ )

I have 4tb hard drive solely for the purpose of keeping all my otomes games and my personal reviews/ratings in one place. Its a lifesaver I cant imagine getting a itch to replay one and having to download it again ლ(⋋·⋌)ლ but then again maybe im just impatient

Yeah, 1TB fills up surprisingly fast if you've got a lot of games on it, especially considering recent games are very data-hungry in general x_x I miss the times when a full-length PC game being a couple of gigs was seen as humongous, but now that's the average size of a short indie game. Even an average mobile gacha game is about 3 to 4Gb on average now LMAO

I don't know if your computer is a desktop one or a laptop, but if you use a laptop, I'd recommend looking for an external hard drive if it's within your budget! I have a 5TB one I bought about 4 years ago and the little guy is still kicking even when I use it on a daily basis. Hell, I have a lot of stuff on it and I'm still only halfway through filling it.

You're right on the money here, the difference is pretty much how fast they can perform and SSDs being more expensive because they're faster.

Though HDDs have also gotten more expensive recently... a 5TB external HDD is almost double the price of what it used to be 4 years ago (at least in my country, I don't know how bad it's gotten in other countries). The hoarder life isn't easy in this economy. :(

I've just started to do reviews this year T.T so i am downloading the old favorite games to replay it again, but somehow those games are too old and are not compatible with the current windows system lol.

4tb hard drive wow!! i think i need to upgrade my PC hardwares, i only have 1tb and i thought it was a lot but it was full in an instant with my games lol

I used to play in a laptop, but that laptop is kinda old and i'm afraid that someday it will just suddenly shuts down forever lol, so i transferred all the games to a desktop (PC). Yeahh... in my country is also the same situation, everything price up... i will try to consider these options!! thank you all for the suggestions!!!
