I can't say that I have. Personally, I skip them because I like seeing different endings.

i think i prefer kinetic vns overall these days, because somehow thinking about different endings stresses me out a little WW. that said, i dont think ive ever read a kinetic otome. isnt the entire point of otome getting different endings and routes? i definitely should look into it.....!

I've heard about and played some kinetic novels, but I have never seen kinetic otome games before :0

Do you know any examples of otome games without choices? I'm actually curious haha

I love kinetic novels, they are just like books, but have soundtracks, visuals and characters are speaking. I've never seen otome, but there are bl kinetic games I liked (UuultraC) and other genres (Umineko|Higurashi no Naku Koro Ni).

Tecnically, many online games could be considered kinetic (Idolish7, for example)

I played some of the Succulent games(which are mostly kinetic) and I enjoyed them for what they were. I liked the way of storytelling where it was just linear with practically little to no choices, it's nice for a change.

Whenever I read a kinetic novel I don't really think of it's a game, more like a story as there's no choices etc so I usually read them only if the premise is intriguing or the writing is well paced. I can forgive a visual novel for some things as there's multiple routes with different outcomes but if the kinetic novel is going down a path or story I dislike, I jump out.

Examples of kinetic otome games with a single love interest are "Winter Bliss ~Meeting You~", "Chocolate Cage", "Seirei Choukoushi" and "Itanshinmonkan no Aijaku". Examples of kinetic otome games with multiple love interests are "Kare to Kare no Hazama De ~White Labyrinth~" and "Silent voices."

This is the first time I'm hearing about kinetic novels. I guess I should broaden my horizons, thanks for the examples! <3

I've played a couple of otome kinetic novels by Koyonplete. Most of them used adv but there was one that was completely nvl (no sprites, only text, sometimes had cgs). The nvl one read a lot like a novel and even had pov changes to the guy which was kinda nice but I think I still prefer vns over kinetic. I think the vndb kinetic tag is misused though bc I recognize some titles that are linear but not kinetic (mo anholly, he stole my panties, etc.), and one that is straight up a vn with choices and diff endings (chocolate cage)

I read some of them if they're short and well written :Dd though I don't really think of them as games.

if you have an account, you should be able to vote on them! as in, upvote tags that apply and downvote tags that are untrue. you can also write short notes to justify your choice if you want to!

Koyonplete... I haven't heard that name in years. I think this is also the only contact I ever had with kinetic VNs. Some of them were actually quite nice!

Unless you're counting unfinished vns, then i don't think so. It's hard for me to recall any VN (otome or not) that didn't have any choices. I do see the appeal as a good story is a good story and having visuals are a fun additive.

you learn something new every day. (‾◡◝)

I have played Kinetic Otome and BL but I'm not a fan purely because it feels like a book but I rather play a game that feels like a game (so I rather have choices).

The beauty of in game choices for me is basically the choice makes me more interested in the story, knowing I might not get the desired outcome becomes a challenge to myself so I love it. I usually take too long to play kinetic games as well, I've been playing a BL one for 3 years already…

I have, actually! Sometimes while browsing Freem or DLsite I find some short titles with interesting styles, I like to read them to train my Japanese lol

I'm actually really into kinetic novels as a whole though, but that may be because I'm a huge reader (I like otome with almost no choices as well!)

I haven't come across kinetic otomes, but I would not mind reading such! I liked reading Adelta's Hashihime and UuultraC

I actually have! I think it is nice format for shorter games, where writers can focus on only one storyline. I haven't played many of them, but Rakuen no Hime was amazing experience!
