How do you feel about brother routes?

Because I have older brother myself, I rarely play big brothers route first, but I deeply enjoy younger brother route though!

Honestly I don't care about incest, whether simply a sibling-like relationship or actually a blood relation, UNLESS the guy is very keen on dating his sister (the "my little sister can't be this cute" type). That actually weirds me out (ex. Chou no doku, hana no kusari, shame cuz I played the game for his voice actor only to hear the mc say "hi brother" and be like ಠ_ಠ bruh)

Suuuuper dependant. I think I prefer when a character takes on/feels like a big brother moreso than being the mc's actual brother - blood, step or adopted. (e.g: Adolphe from Virche) but I love overprotective LIs and oftentimes an oniichan IS that character, so I usually eat it up regardless (thank you rejet)

I do feel like we should get more otoutos though. I loved Ikuto from Kuro to kin no akanai kagi, and I know that omegaverse otomate game has a very cute one too, so fingers crossed they deliver on him

I'm fine as long as it isn't incest and yandere. But what do I expect?
Most of times, it's either incest or yandere, even worse both. It's hard to find one without any.
But I respect who likes or loves them. But it just isn't for me.

It depends for me... I feel nothing with Adolphe while playing his route I don't even know why... I feel like his character is bland compare to other males cast in Virche but at the same time I like Ankou...

I'm a freak so I don't mind. I prefer blood-related over step-sibling stuff, the latter just feels like the safer option for writers while the blood-related option is "actual" incest. Granted, I've really only read sibling incest stuff so I'm not sure how I'd feel about parental incest. Shout out to Folie Fatale for its incest route.

I love brother routes—both older and younger! I enjoy them even without a blood relation, but to me, being blood-related is very important. I tend to fall harder for a story the more 'forbidden' it is.

I've never done a route where the brother was blood related so I can't say much of an opinion on it but I do love a good step siblings route (esp if the Il is older but not crazy older)! The step sibling route is even better for me when it's a either a protective brother, overprotective brother, or a step brother that doesn't realize the mc's feelings until later in the story.

I'll go out on a limb here and say that while it's not necessarily something I'm specifically after/seek out intentionally, I don't mind it at all. Blood-related or not, it doesn't really matter. I have an older sibling IRL and for me those are just two completely separate things; fiction is fiction and so on. I actually find the moral/psychological conflict very compelling, honestly. (Mainly thinking of Caleb from LADS here and how huge the discourse on that has been recently. And how... polarized.) (ᵕ • ᴗ •)
Anyway, I do think it's something very interesting to explore in fiction especially since that's probably the safest place to do it. (*ᵕᴗᵕ)⁾⁾
