I'd love someone gloomier or even a girlfailure type. It is nice when the heroine has just as much baggage as the LIs do.

I like protagonists who are active and take initiative.
No matter what their personality is, I just prefer when it's clearly defined and consistent. Characters who have a strong sense of identity feel much more engaging to me.
It makes the story and relationships more compelling when the MC actually drives the narrative instead of just passively reacting to everything.

I do REALLY need more flawed, & trashy MCs in otome games. I do understand why these MCs don't really exist, of course, but I'm allowed to wish dammit! (૭ ｡•̀ ᵕ •́｡ )૭
I'd like an MC who is deeply flawed to the point you almost hate her but you understand where she's coming from at the same time. It creates an interesting dichotomy between the player and the MC that I very much enjoy! I've seen something close once or twice, but nobody has ever gone the full way. I dream of a world where MCs are consistently allowed to be just as messy and flawed as their LIs!

I want an MC that is more assertive? I was playing 9 RIP and liked how Misa was expressing her feelings honestly to Koharu and not being too shy about it. She seems more confident in herself doing that and I just loved to see being so communicative. I feel like that's something some MCs lack on, so I love that for her! Also I want an MC that can kick ass lmao. I remember the MC for My Candy Love was being written to portray that, but it really made her seem like an asshole than someone who can stand up for herself.

Yes, I love when the MC is a baddie with confidence! And I commiserate with you on how rudeness is often portrayed as confidence… I swear some choices seem great, but then you actually choose them, and it leads to a "glass him" situation—a reference from The Wolf Among Us—in which the outcome is not what was expected from the short text in the options.
You'll choose to comfort an LI, but the MC will say something along the lines of "Stop moping around like a loser!" （；´д｀） I actually do enjoy mean MCs when I know the MC is supposed to be mean, though.

Whew, I must be so toxic because I live for when LIs blatantly show their jealousy—albeit not so much if they direct the blame at MC.
You just made me remember I crave an MC who revels in that type of attention and even suggests the LIs try to "take care of any pests".

I love it when characters show some type of jealousy, I'm tired of me having to go after a playboy man and get jealous all the time! I want a playboy man to get jealous of ME! loool But yeah that's why I like some yandere men, because the ones I like typically do go through the "I'll take care of any pests" kind of thing, looking at Caleb from LADS.

Oh, don't get me started on the playboy LIs… I feel like a freak for loving confirmed virgin LIs because it's so uncommon for them to exist unless they're super insecure about it. Meanwhile, in galge most of the LIs are virgins as a standard. Like, damn, we don't need realism in otomes! It's fine to have an LI with no experience magically be amazing.
I'm also a Caleb fan even though I dropped LADs because I despise gacha otomes.
And my username is indeed a Somnium Files reference! I'm honestly shocked people would know—I feel as if I might look like a bot with only numbers in my username.

I want to see a female lead who is sharp-tongued, unkempt, or ambitious. These "flaws" actually make the characters more three-dimensional, making us feel like we are dating a "person" rather than running a program.

I just pulled the game from my backlog after not touching my Switch for mooonths and I can't put the game down, I love Rose so much. In the routes I've played so far, she's so capable, smart, skilled, while also being flawed and conflicted. And also, in some cases she's so deviously evil and I'm actually surprised that I love that about her, because I always skew towards goodie goodie choices.
I've been taking my Switch to work, which is new for me, just so I can keep playing, but I know I'm gonna be so sad when I finish this one. I need Rose merch so bad.

I have seen people hate on her on here but i want more mc's like the tengoku struggle one, i love how she starts as a misandrist but she gets to know the li and starts to yearn for them.
I think what i like about that is that she's treated like she has a flawded personality, i want more of that, mc's with flaws that aren't that they're too honest or too pure, actual flaws like the ones mentioned in this whole thread, mc's that have traits that aren't desirable

mc who's flawed in some ways!! maybe she overthinks. maybe she gets jealous sometimes. maybe she is stubborn. flaws that feel human make her more lovable, not less. something relatable.

Adult women who actually have life experience and aren't losing their shit over touching hands or going "KYAAAAA" over kisses, I beg! Tired of "what is... this feeling in my chest...?" and I'd kill for a heroine who's more self-aware, especially in relationships!

For me an MC who loves to tease you know? Like able to make the LIs blush from her tease who embraces her body but also emotionally intelligent. It's kind of hard to explain what I mean like a mix between an Ara, Ara Oneesan and Karakai Jouzu no Takagi-san or Nagatoro.

I'd love to see more of the "Ice Princess" type of MC like Lucette from Cinderella Phenomenon. It's really entertaining for the MC to have a sharp edge to them.
