Hiii! I didn't rlly know where else to ask, so I'm here to ask anyone who has played Club Suicide just... how triggering is it, really? I'm looking for opinions because I'm curious about the game but also have some recurring mental health issues and I'm not exactly sure if it's worth playing or I should just skip it entirely c:
Is it graphic? Is it censored? I'd like to know any opinions you might have about it!

different routes varied in their trigger and violence level but overall i would say it is a decently heavy game so i wouldn't recommend it if you easily enter a bad headspace or if you find yourself spiraling when reading about negative experiences or a negative thought process you might frequently have as well

each guy only has one happy / alive ending so if youd like you can only do their good endings since you'll escape most of the gory / graphic content that way since the unhappy endings do have details about their suicides which can be really difficult to sit through

route wise trigger review without any spoilers:

zaizen's route isn't graphically violent in anyway but it is a heavy route dealing with self-esteem / self-worth. i really related to his experiences and his self talk so i found it to be a very personal route - none of his endings are violent but they are heavy in the similar nature of his route

shiki's route is pretty safe imo? it discusses troubles about shiki's life and focused more on the idea of love and only one of his endings can be considered violent (visually not gory)

masaya's route feels more melancholic rather than heavy however all three of his endings excluding his good one are very gory and graphic in nature both audio and visually so i would recommend skipping those

mitsuki's route was also relatively tame, bit more on the softer end and one that i think most people would find to be relatable - his bad endings aren't gory or super intense besides maybe one

meiyou's route is a bit intense and deals with self worth in a different lens than zaizen however all of meiyou's endings excluding the happy one are VERY graphic and violent so i would recommend skipping them as well

tsuzuri's endings are all tame in terms of violence but he is a very melancholic character and his story feels very raw to play

i find the game to be very beautiful and really liked the different themes and aspects of humanity it discussed so i think if you feel like it's something you can handle you should give it a try but keep in mind the en localization version does have script errors so that might affect your experience while playing too

I appreciate this useful information!! As someone who's been there 3 years ago (i am doing better now✨️) I'm having second thought playing Club Suicide. I know the game warnings are there for a reason and i should just stay away from it but the art is appealing, and i am kind of wondering if this game will give me something valuable that perhaps will open my mind or shift my perspective, just like any other VNs did. I really love it when VNs tell meaningful story that left me in awe and makes me reflect on life afterward.

I am progressing through Mitsuki's route and i have been enjoying his story so far. I'm playing his route blindly without looking any walkthrough, so wish me luck on getting the happy ending ><

I played Clip Sysard, but it wasn't as intense as I expected. Of course, I do think the subject matter is inappropriate for younger players. I actually found The End of Burch more despair-inducing. Since the content could be quite shocking for those who have trauma related to that, you should be careful when playing it.

i believe i can't speak for anyone, we all have different experiences and different sensitivity levels. it is a very heavy game but i can agree with the sentiment that it's not as 'intense' as i expected. it's a very contemplative vn.

suicide will be openly discussed (and graphically depicted in certain endings) but it's also treated sensibly. it's a work that has a lot of sympathy for those struggling with suicide ideation, i can assure you it didn't feel gratuitous to me but if you're in a bad place maybe give it some time/pass this one.

the endings where the characters die aren't very long compared to ones where they live (there are alternative alive endings too!) but the cgs can get pretty bloody (masaya and meiyou's in particular, i did struggle a bit with those). i didn't skip them because i wanted to see everything the vn had to offer but you can definitely choose to do so, if you want.

i'd love for more people to read club suicide (yes, even with that terrible english translation..) but everyone should take care of themselves too, if you think it's not for you it's okay to skip it. or if it's not a good time, there's always later! it will be waiting for you.
