Which otome game have you started and never finished?

soo manyy ;;w;;
some of them I treasured a loooott, too much even (shuuen no virche) but I like the bad ending so much, I'm too scared to be disappointed by the good ending :( so I've been putting off to play the GE for a veeery loongg time, I finished all the BE and loved it <3

some of them I just lost interest or not have too much time :') (temirana, matsurika kei, etc)

Tokimeo gs 1-4.Because gameplay options and endings, I often play for a while and then put it aside.

never finished inukai shinji's route from hiiro no kakera on psp... i was so bored i couldn't bring myself to finish it, also couldn't bring myself to start any other last character after that, so... you could say, i didn't finish it, yup

Cupid Parasite. I was really looking forward to it before playing, but it ended up feeling pretty boring. The writing felt like it was trying too hard to be wacky and funny, but it just came across as disjointed and random instead. On top of that, the first route I played was also jam-packed with flashbacks.

Dandelion because there were no clear HEA. plus it's a stat raising game, so it was an easy choice. I have a lot of other games I stopped playing at some point, but those are usually in a "might come back later" category
oh, another one I remembered is Hakuoki, completed one route and tried several others, but had to drop it

The Red Bell's Lament. The beginning hooked me, but I really disliked that they made the routes linear. I was only really interested in one LI to begin with, and being forced to play through everyone else's really turned me off of the game unfortunately... Not to mention the way they did it was really jarring.

For anyone unaware, the game has you jump from LI to LI's route. So one moment you could be on one LIs route, and a few dialogues later, you're on another LIs route. It started to get a bit too much, the back-and-forth and trying to keep track of what was going on with each LI... especially if you take long breaks in the middle of your playthrough.

I'm honestly not sure if I'll ever finish it.

awww, sorry to hear that... it was actually the part i liked it for :unsure: but, i guess, in my case it wasn't that bad because i liked most of the characters and didn't take many long breaks...

Collar x Malice > MC somehow irked me and I only got to finish one route before I quit.

Amnesia > I honestly don't know why I can't finish this game while I can finish Black Wolves Saga Bloody Nightmare just fine... I only finished Shin and Toma's route (I hate toma).

Tsumikui ~Sen no Noroi, Sen no Inori~ > Very beautiful art (the main reason why I got interested with the game) but only got to prologue before I quit because I can't stand the MC... :forsaken:

My Vow My Liege > I didn't finish GouJian's route (haven't even started), my mood and energy has already gone by the time I finished YiGuang, ChenFeng, and ZuXi's route. I predict Goujian's route is about his revenge towards MC and her kingdom which make me ehhh. This game is all about angsty ah, I was already disappointed with ChenFeng's route and now I have no interest with GouJian.

That's definitely fair! I can see it being a pretty nice positive for those who like all of the LIs and can't decide who they want to go with first haha. The overall atmosphere of the game was really nice, and I loved the concept! I'm happy that we're getting darker otome games in general, too! The LI I was interested in wasn't playable until way later, so it was a bit of a bummer for me... I've heard really amazing things about their other game, even if TEMPEST, so I might give that one a try in the future.

Don't be discouraged, I took a two-month break from it after seriously getting into it and finishing it. Personally, Cieran is by far the best character, but I really like Asher's voice actor. I found it different from what Red Bell did with their routes; I believe if TEMPEST must have the same mechanic of creating a route for all the characters, but I'm not sure because I haven't played it yet. Although I enjoy time travel games, I found it fun.

Steam Prison : out of all the otome games I've played, it's the only one I couldn't finish. None of the LI attracted me unfortunately and I feel like I expected much more from the setting and the plot. It missed the mark I guess
It's weird because I finished games with lower scores like Charade Maniacs or Paradigm Paradox and honestly they're not games I would recommend :LOL:

as far as i remember, even if tempest has the similar system, but it was more like you don't skip between the LIs, but rather go through them one by one in the "common" route, so it'll be 50/50 for you, i guess, depending on which character you'll like :unsure: but i really enjoyed the story, and would be glad if you'd find it enjoyable as well :smile:

personally, it would be Virche Evermore. at first I was excited to play the game after checking the LI out and disappointed to see the one I like was locked until I finished other route first ( ._.). but i'm really into the dark fantasy vibe so i just yolo with it. ngl the story is intriguing! YET, it is way too slow-paced for me, with the background music itself as if it's trying to lull me to sleep. I end up dropping the game ;u;

Code Realize. Most games I try to finish at least one route to the end. I couldn't for that game. They were pushing too hard from the beginning for the poster boy to be a nice, kind, smart, cunning, sharp mastermind thief. Whatever. They wanted him to be perfect. I could not care less to learn more. It was very cringe because all the plans and tricks and reflexes they wrote to show him off were unimpressive. I yawned during the common route.

Ozmafia, I'm only missing 2 routes there. It's not even a bad game, quite the opposite even I've loved it a lot! But I simply can't bring myself to lock in and finish it for some reason. Granted I'm not too interested in the LI's left.

There are a lot of cases where I play 1-2 routes and then put the rest on hiatus/hold, but the only time I've totally considered something dropped (aka I have no intention of revisiting it) is with Collar x Malice. I know it's really well received but I just did not want to play a game about cops lol. Tried pushing through but Mineo's route didn't sell me + I'm not particularly a fan of the artstyle, so I just cut my losses after the first route. But it did teach me I should pick games based off my own taste not just reviews, so that's a silver lining?

Jack Jeanne. Its clear the writer wanted to make a BL but changed it the last second or something. Barely any romance (it happens near the end). Pointless to read, I'm not interested in zero romance nor BL.

Olympia Soiree was just boring.

ken ga kimi.. probably because i just can't handle reading chinese for very long lol.. but also the setting is a bit uninteresting to me despite the language barrier. everytime i try to play the game i end up stopping for months :frown:

Like the last poster, Ken ga Kimi > I picked the game back in the pandemic. I was playing it everyday, the only routes left were Sakyo and Tsuzuramaru (the one I was the most interested in, but ppl kept recommending his for last), then I had personal problems and lost the drive to finish. Sadly I don't see myself going back to it :/

Collar x Malice: the trophy system of PSvita make me want to collect them all but it takes time...
TMGS4: simply not good at simulation game...
I also have a lot of PSvita game still haven't started yet

I dropped Charade Maniacs after playing about 4-5 routes and couldn't get myself to continue it since. The concept sounds so fun to me, but I just feel like it wasn't executed very well. Or, maybe I wouldn't feel this way if only there were a bit fewer LIs, but it is what it is:(
Kind of Charade Maniacs for me too... I'm now not afraid to drop games after slogging through to the end for that one.... (Spoiler: If you don't enjoy the beginning or middle, you probably won't enjoy the end)

i need to finish hashihime.. I was almost at like the 70% but I had to delete it because my pc didn't have enough space at the time.. now I can't access the original thread / post 😥

Charade Maniacs and Paradigm Paradox. I mean, despite the general consensus that they aren't the best, I really like their vibe! I just. Haven't gotten around to finishing them like I should haha.

Jewlic Nightmare is my worst, dullest nightmare

Jack Jeanne.How I hate rhythm games and life simulators. I know the novella is cool, but this is unbearable... I want to smash my laptop. Although I really like the character designs and the heroine's voice acting.
