I read the original post, and, yeah, those things can be really annoying.
I recently discovered someone/something was using a very old and closed (well, at least I thought it was) Yahoo account to send spam to other people (including teachers from my previous university)... I only found that out because my current e-mail account received one of those messages. I logged in, changed my password to a 50-character long string, closed the damn account again and contacted Yahoo staff about the issue. I do hope that thing is gone for good!

He had a problem similar to that I described, but Microsoft closed his account and he was unable to reactivate it, hence his new account.
Indigo, I can only hope you hadn't lost anything too important with your older account... Good luck with your new one.

Yeah. This issue happened with me a few years back. Now, I cannot retrieve my old Nexon account because I need my old e-mail to reactivate it.
