May I rec'on you to watch Macross, especially Super Dimension Fortress Macross(series) and Macross Plus(OVA). They're the best among all Macross francises. After that, You can watch Macross: Do You Remember Love(movie), Macross 7(series, but don't take this series too seriously, thou), Macross Zero(OVA) and Macross Frontier(series + 2 movies)
