Tutorial: Playing downloaded PSP ISO on PSP by patch it using ISO_TOOL

Hi, I'm browsing the Tech Support & Talk and find a lot of issues regarding:
How to play downloaded PSP ISO here on PSP --------------------------
That's why I decide to make this tutorial based on my own experience.
I'm currently using:
1. PSP 2000
2. 5.50 GEN-D3 Firmware
3. 1.975 ISO_TOOL

I'm an otome gamer, as long as I know most of uploaded otome games ISO in the net is an unpatched version,
that's why you have to patch it first before playing.
I'm too lazy to change my firmware, that's why I'm keeping the old firmware.

*please don't ask me how to change your firmware because I'm totally don't remember how,
and I don't want to broke your PSP for writing wrong tutorial.

This time I'm going to patch Shiratsuyu no Kai by otomate
(don't worry, I already playing latest otome games - Diabolik Lover More Blood and Kamigami no Asobi - they worked perfectly fine)

Okay let's start.

Spoiler: My current Firmware & ISO_TOOL

First thing first you have to EBOOT DECRYPT the ISO:
1. Run your ISO_TOOL
2. SELECT the iso you want to decrypt
3. CHOOSE -> EBOOT DECRYPT
4. SELECT -> YES for every option that popped up

Spoiler: Using EBOOT DECRYPT

Next, you have to PATCH your ISO
1. SELECT the ISO you want to patch
2. SELECT -> PATCH PROMETHEUS
3. CHOOSE -> M3631
4. CHOOSE -> YES

and... FINISH

Just exit and try playing your game.
It worked for me, I hope it worked for you.

BEWARE: You have to do this in order. Never trying to patch your ISO first then decrypt it. It won't work.

Perfect fine, if you are using 6.60 PRO-C2. There's no need patch iso tool. I have PSP 3006 9g.

My friend use 6.60 PRO-C2 and those games still not working for her,
that's why I'm really afraid to change my firmware

UMD ISO Mode should be Inferno. Better compatibility than M33 driver.

I have a little problem, though it seems only with Rejet games (I tried so far Diabolik Lovers and Tokyo Yamanote Boys Honey Milk). Other games like Kamigami no Asobi, Uta no Prince-sama, QuinRose games, and Amnesia...etc have no problem like this.
So when I start Diabolik Lovers until the menu works fine, but when I want to start the game it writes "loading" and after a little while the screen just goes black and I have to restart my PSP.
I don't know what's the solution for this... anyone had the same problem?

Well I received my PSP this way yesterday, so I didn't do anything to it yet (except putting on it Iso_Tool). Don't need to be said, I'm absolutely a newbie to it.... ^^"
As far as I can tell it has 5.50 GEN_D3 on it. I read maybe I have to update to 6.60 to make it work.
I tried it, but when I want to run the update it says "The system software of your PSP system is version 9.90. There is no need to update."
I'm totally clueless at this point. :/ T_T Anyway, I just found that strange that everything works fine except the Rejet games.

To fix the 9.90 problem you have to change a file in the root of your psp...
I could tell you how, but if you're really a newbie I'm afraid one mistake will surely bricked your psp...
Yes if you want an easy and smooth psp gaming life, upgrade it to 6.60...
If you are afraid to upgrade your psp, you can use the iso_tool to patch it like I described above.

Anyway in order to upgrade your cfw, you have to check your psp type too.

So, in the end I fixed the 9.90 problem (http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20121018053706AAD0Bbs), updated to 6.60 and then installed 6.60 PRO-C2 (http://digiex.net/guides-reviews/co...y-psp-psp-psp-slim-psp-3000-psp-go-e1000.html) and now it works perfectly fine. ^^ Finally can play Diabolik Lovers! :3

I didn't say this before, but thanks for the tutorial, it helped to understand Iso tool! ^^

I'm glad it worked,
no problem this tutorial is for those who afraid to bricked their PSP and stick to the old firmware,
iso tool is working fine except for Geten no Hana and Tokimeki Memorial Girl's Side Premium ^^
I already upgraded my CF to recently and it works fine too ^^
