Anime Sharing - Netorare General Discussion Thread

In case someone is interested, getchu has created the page for the new heiantei game, and they have a new cg that is not on the official web:

http://www.getchu.com/soft.phtml?id=1014750

It's about damn time... You're killin' me with that avatar btw. I sit back just in wonder, is it the pirates slowing down the h-game industry like this? Is it just not profitable enough anymore or is it loosing momentum in Japan? I'm trying to support all the companies i like nowadays but they stay pissing me off

I dunno, i think it is the same as what happened to non hentai gaming industry - Big companies just tend to do safe genres and are more interested in monetizing stuff like card games, DLCs, etc
Back in old times in 2000-2010~ we got a lot of different companies doing various genres, trying to innovate. Now only smaller independent developers still try to innovate things.

And i don't think that hentai industry is slowing down, on the contrary, it is just becoming more mainstream? And there a LOT more smaller companies (indies) doing quality stuff now, but its mostly hentai rpgs and mangas :(
But on optimistic side - we do sometimes see a resurgences of some genres, like classical RPGs, Quests or strategy games, instead of plethora BR, shooters, action\adventure games & etc. I personally would like to see a lot more of depressive dark eroges with tentacles\monsters and some guro elements - my favs things beside mystery NTR games.

Also pirates are not that big of a problem as we tend to think - https://gizmodo.com/the-eu-suppressed-a-300-page-study-that-found-piracy-do-1818629537
The report found that illegal downloads and streams can actually boost legal sales of games, according to the report

On unrelated note - does anyone here have Nanaha no Ken Kunoichi In no Shou its not an NTR game but i would like to get it. I've created request post here

Just a little more of waiting, the demo is coming in 2-3 weeks and we can calm down a bit :D

Why you talk about crisis? Is because they are releasing only one game per year lately?
I don't know other companys, but I don't think heiantei has nothing to do with money, because frame said that he wants to make two games per year but he doesn't have time.

I understand that they waited one year between "chikako" and "netorare mama" because after "chikako" , frame did the elf sister game for black lilith, after that he did two or three games for dieselmine and after that they did the cg manga from "pa kaichou" , so they have an excuse.

But now, since "netorare mama" I think frame has not done anything, and still is been a whole year again. Is true that they're gonna release another game in January, but after that it will be again a year or more because they plan to do a cg manga.

So I don't know, I'm just gonna keep enjoying while it last.

This is where i gotta disagree. I don't think all these indie games and rpgmaker games are quality at all. Not only is the artwork usually banal, the writing is scarce and the game mechanics are simplistic. I stopped buying the stuff because it's complete rubbish imo. Alot of these games on dlsite are a complete insult

That link you share is very interesting. I think the lack of releases latetly has to do more with the Indie industry arising and with the Patreon-style new way of bussiness. It seems like there are a lot of sites like that popping around latetly. Pixiv released his own not too long ago. Dlsite has his too. Cien, Enty, Patreon, etc. Maybe creators are noticing that they profit better that way because they receive a regular income everymonth for their works, and can build a faithful fandom. So there might be a good number of works relesease exlclusivebly in those sites.

I think is more complicated, but it bowls down to quantity, with so many coming out all the time there is bound to be 1 or 2 remarcable ones, and then there is everyone's individual tastes tot ake into account, but yeah it irks me to see "rpg" that only have rpg in name, i don't mind if they are all the same mechanics but many only put them for show and sometimes they don't even really work........

But they still gave us games like Treasure Hunter Mai, Thug Hero Party, NTRPG, I am your Guinol, etc, so i think we come up winning.........and thank god for piracy since it actually let us check wich games are worth it and wich are just cash grabs riding the ntr wave.

Aside from the responses given by straight.shota and Animefan_09, I'm more optimistic than you in this regard: yes you don't have many great ntr every year, but that has always been the case if you account for time periods (every year there is a finite amount of good products).

Also, Japan seems to be little by little opening up, closing the historical Rapelay incident parenthesis, while western porn games are experiencing a boom. And both markets experience a big push by little indy devs.
So yeah you have lot of trash, but also lots of fetishes covered, and some great titles among them.
And since the market is growing internationally, it means attracting more talents and manpower, since there is a demand, and it's profitable.
For example, I've never seen so many good artists in pixiv, it's amazing, and same with actually talented western artists. Or with the current explosion of translated games, some with fetishes I've never dreamed about in the western market (non con, loli, ntr, mind control etc...). Or with Steam being less anal about adult games.
The signs are here, the industry is developing and is trying to please more and more niches. There is big world market to fulfill with adult games, and it's awesome!

Remember my dude, just rewind some years, and all you'll see would be a closed Japanese market, with rarely some cheap lovey dovey blobby old as fuck nukige ported to the West, and with western porn being either BIG BOOBS AND VAGANA MEGAZOOMs without class or erotic value, or furry stuff.
The only way to experience advanced fetishes was to learn Japanese, and there was nothing in the west resembling an actual erotic writer for games.

So have hope my friend, it's a great time to be alive for hentai lovers !

I wouldn't say japanese eroge companies are mainstream yet (nor they will anytime soon). They're always going to have a solid niche that supports them, however; they're growing, and now have realized the power of social media has to influence its products. Japanese hentai companies have slowly started to become more open with foreigners because of their own internal problems (the excess of elders and slow birth rate effects). Japan knows that if they want to stay strong for the upcoming decades, they need to take into account the manpower and creativity of the foreigner. Sure, not from everyone, but if they see you care for their product, concept or in this case fetishes they focus into, they look for you for any idea pitching, whether you speak japanese or not (preferentially, the former).

Simply, Japanese adult entertainment (JAV, eroges and H-Anime) cannot rely on the domestic market anymore, but it's too soon to call it mainstream, since there's still parts of the world where adult content is still stigmatized.

Now, on contrast, darker sexual content has been going in declive as of late, I belieeve since it's been increasingly more disliked internally (hence why censorship in guro works has gone more prevalent), as well as going too stale (guro is quite unoriginal on its target choices). Just think about it, how many titles with dark sexual content have come up since 2015? One or two per year? Latest game with guro was Grand Guignol no Yoru and was a big flop. I don't think dark sexual content is going to disappear anytime soon, but they're now the genre who's on a dire situation for the time being (now if only scat would also share the same misery).

Best Guro game is Guro Dere, hands down.

That is because companies have utterly realized stopping piracy is pointless at this point. Instead, they work around it by offering things to hook people onto the product. Companies interact more with the customer, since it's them in the end who sustain companies.

Well i think many people flanderize the industry as "cartoon tentacles" and don't realize how big it is, as for the guro,i think is just the natural process, i mean look at inyouchuu for example, i love it but each later game seens to rely more on the guro shock value than the story itself (first games had betrayal, ntr, corruption, etc in the narrative) and when that shock fades it isn't shocking anymore.......ok lame pun but the point is that it stops beign entertainint.

Well, the industry as a whole is not Flanderized, it suffers of Never Live it Down status instead since people think the industry is all naughty tentacles. Flanderization would imply the same industry only does tentacle rape.

If anything, your Flanderizzation example fits on what's happening with the Guro genre. Like said, darker sexual content is currently on declive right now because, as you mentioned, it depends only on shock value. This is why I liked Guro Dere, in spite of me hating guro, because guro is used for comedy, and because its brlliant usage of "death is cheap" and regeneration. in resume, Guro Dere is a subtle jab to the Guro genre because it mocks Guro's reliance on shock value for the sake of it instead of using it as a complement.

I think the stereotype comes from people who know next to nothing about hentai, tentacles are not even that common, just look at the last month of games/anime/manga, there are 100 works with humans only for each tentacle themed one.
But the start of the tentacle genre some time ago made people talk about it, so even people who don't follow much hentai heard about it.

Frankly speaking, I've always seen guro the same as scat: it's just a niche inside the niche. And just checking in vndb, I see that 2016 was a good year (quantity wise), 2017 a bad year, and 2018 even worse until now (maybe more games until the end of the year). But when we are talking less than 10 games a year, it's difficult to make stats about trends. You just need ONE company closing down to change completely the market for years, until another one takes over.
So for me, nothing stops any darker fetish game from being developed again, shock value or not. The only important factor in the end is the demand.

Tentacles are more used as synonyms to "weird Japanese stuff" than anything else IMO.

I don't think "disliked internally" is a thing - if you dislike something you just don't buy it, you don't go and try to stop other people from buying/making it. We got a lot of things that are highly disliked by a lot of people and yet immensely popular - take sports game, Battle royale, card games & etc. Even our NTR genre.
Also your hate for Scat is truly legendary :D I think if you try to let it go and try to avoid/skip scenes with it it would be better and there would be more "good" parts of the game to enjoy. I dislike a lot of things, but I just try to ignore them and focus more on stuff i like. If you just keep focusing on things you hate it will just hurt you more :(

Also if you dislike something - wishing it to fail is bad for people who like it, just let it go

Concerning Grand Guignol no Yoru - are you sure it was a big flop? I dunno about its sales numbers, but ratings on vndb are pretty ok. Personally I wasn't that interested in that game because judging by CG gallery its just mostly ordinary human sex with few pregnancy/guro/scat scenes here and there, no monsters/tentacles or other stuff I'm interested in, maybe i ll give it a try in the future. I think its just that Aojiru should focus more on things that he his famous for - tentacles, and that game had none of them :(

Guro i think is too often used just for the sake of it. I think its better used not just as "shock" element but as a part of atmosphere of horror, madness and depression, like a part of horror game but with sexual stuff. To think of it, Horror genre is itself not as popular as before but we do see some good titles occasionally, and i think it is already rising in popularity lately.

Lets go back to discussing NTR stuff, don't make me more depressed people :deadsad:
Anyone mind translating the story and character bios for this upcoming game? (can't google translate since the kanji is drawn onto png images)

http://herencia.nexton-net.jp/product/hitotsumami/story.html

http://herencia.nexton-net.jp/product/hitotsumami/character.html

I mentioned this game several pages back. Still curious if there's any NTR potential.
Looks good - Bubuzuke's arts is always good and colorful.
But is it ntr? Can someone say what story page is about?

While this is no defining metric for Grand Guignol no Yoru. It can clue in how popular games are potentially. If you look at dlsite you can see reviews no. and comments on the right. The crowns represent if it was a high seller for a particular week/month. If you look at the Inyouchuu games they are in the 500-2000 marks. Sadly Grand Guniol and its DLC are in the 100-200's. Mind you all the none Inyouchuu stuff is in that ball park on that list though Aojiru works across the board do tend to do fairly well. Obviously there are many other metrics to consider, like dmm and other digital platforms and physical versions. Also consider that the dl release is usually later then the physical with most of these games it can still provide a pointer in a games popularity.
https://www.dlsite.com/pro/circle/profile/=/maker_id/VG01364.html

I think most japanese still buy the physical version of these games, it would be interesting to see those numbers. Also keep in mind that eroge games are not only sold on sites like getchu but also through physical shops.
The exception to that may be independent games that don't have a publisher to make a physical version, so they only publish through dlsite, dmm etc.

With all that said, comparing the digital sales is probably a good indication of the difference between the total sales of those games.

Worse of all, many of my favorite eroges, (esppecially Ane Ane W Saimin 2) contain some scat, fortunately most of those titles I can skip scat, it's like it will never go away. ;_;

For guro to work, it ha to have effect on the story. Once again, Guro dere worked perfectly because the eroge is dark comedy and mocks the concept of death by coming back just fine next scene.

I feel Grand Guignol no Yoru also falls more into the underwhelming category, due to being a horror eroge and featuring Aojiru's work, one was going to expect plenty of guro, it was not only very small on it, but it was also tame compared to say... Fuka no Jugoku.

I have. Not really NTR. I haven't finish yet, however I think the NTR tags reffers to some scenes with one of the side characters that I think will develope in NTR (she saves a boy and they begin to like each other, but the son of the village chief blackmail her). I think is false advertising since even though there might be some NTR on it, it's just an extra that doesn't cover even 10% of the whole story. Most of the game is just corruption, and sex with disgusting looking guys (middle age, old men, homeless) and one shota, which is not surprising given the artist. If you have played his prior games, I think you will know what to expect, it's the same but withouth the NTR.

Even though I played this game half-knowing it would have no NTR, I still have mixed feelings about it. It seems like a waste, the game had a lot potential, but waste it in some cases, however it's not really a bad game at all.

It has a too many petting, caressing, foreplay scenes, that would have being better as a part of a longer scene instead of a standalone, I think the author did it to create the illusion of more scenes, but it just substract to the enjoyment. Also there are some really steaming hot sex scenes I enjoyed, they usually come as the last 2 scenes with a given partner. I suggest to use the hints on the reminiscense room to unlock h-events.

The game is kind of lighthearted, which I think is good. Some people tag it in dlsite as a love-comedy, and that definition is not that off. There is corruption but is more on the light side. So far all the endings I have reached are happy ones in diferent degrees. For instance there is one ending when one of the heroines fall in love with one of the ojisans and they marry and start a pub. That ending was pretty cute actually. I don't know if all the endings will be like that though, maybe there are some dark endings as well.

I think the game would be a hundred times better if the creator would have added husbands/boyfriends for the girls, to make this game at least a cheating game. I don't know why he didn't given he is know for NTR, in fact sometimes I don't know what creators are thinking at all.

If you like old/ugly men having sex with strong/beautiful girls then you would enjoy it, however don't expect a NTR feeling from his one.

I don't like guro, but I think it works pretty well in horror/mystery games as part of the story. It adds a shocking/fear element when it's used correctly. When I play a multiple route mystery visual novel I preffer when the guro is showed graphicly rather than just a description of it, it cause more impact to the story and allows the player to be more inmmerse into it.

I don't like guro as a sexual fetish, however I don't criticize people that like it. We all have our own fetishes and it's fine. Actually I can't understand people that criticize other people fetishes at all. Man you don't know how I dislike annons that throw hate comments in 4chan.

In that regard, even guro is treated better than ntr... I dunno why, but some people are turning complete assholes when we discuss fetish and I say I like ntr.

Lets go back to discussing NTR stuff, don't make me more depressed people :deadsad:

Looks good - Bubuzuke's arts is always good and colorful.
But is it ntr? Can someone say what story page is about?

At this point I'm waiting for seller sites to eventually update their product info to include the text of the story and character bios e.g. getchu

But I did grab this off of the dmm page

Quick translation displays the word "affair" but I'm not familiar enough to know if that kanji could represent something else
