Studio NEO and the old Studio are separate from each other; the only major downside, really, is that you won't be able to apply the 4k graphics mod to it. It's best that you just bite the bullet and go NEO. Some people do separate installations for that sort of thing, but that's madness, to me!
It felt like 5k! So... monotonous... My frustration levels were peaking, that's for sure. The porting from SBPR to HS was certainly a grind, but at least with that, it felt like a fun challenge to get them looking as good, or better, than they originally were.

I don't think there's been a decent Terminator since T3, which wasn't great, but better than the poop they've been shoveling, lately.

That, too, surprises the hell out of me. In other games, mostly in the better HF days, I'd see A LOT of that. Not so much, anymore, but around here, I think it's just that they prefer more "realistic" proportions... sort of. o_o

I've gotten better over time, so I'm just thankful for that. Shadows are a major pain, that's for sure. Sometimes the frustration becomes so heavy, that I feel like turning off self-shadows for certain lights. Can't be having glow-in-the-dark nips! lol

Ahh, well, that explains a lot. You might not want to use those studio mods I mentioned, then, since they're only for StudioNEO.
...Yes, that would be me, though I think that was mostly due to my battling the graphics patches Curve settings. It's possible I did that with NEO's release, too, I don't remember. I must have fixed ALL my girls like 5+ times! When you've got that many girls, you can imagine all the time wasted doing that. -_- Needless to say, I've settled on a Curve I like, that being SampleCurve3.

It's mostly in-game lighting, but yeah, there's some post-work done for that particular look, as well.
You'll get the hang of it! You should check out sin07's lighting tutorials on HF, they are very helpful!
If you use the light-items, in conjunction with the extra lighting used by HSStudioNEOAddon_0.7.3, I think you might have an easier time. I almost never use the lighting from ShortcutsHS, now. (The key is actually "N" for Neo, but it was "B" for the original Studio. Are you still using that?)
