What are some of your favorite otome games that don't get enough recognition. I'm kind of old school and haven't really kept up with some of the new releases in the past years so I'm curious which ones you think are the best and you can't stop replaying wether they're indie or from bigger publishers.

Some of mine are:
Nusantara: the legend of the winged ones
HeartCage
Halloween otome
Blooming panic
Ebon light
Ozmafia

Aah, I have this one on my list but still haven't played it yet definitely bumping it to the top now to try
There are some translation errors in the game but it's not to the point that it's uncomprehensive. I really enjoyed the game especially iwasaki's route. I hope you'll enjoy it too ^^

I've also played Heart Cage, and I will be waiting for Clark and N's route to release, along with anything else the dev puts out for this story.

Besides that, I'll throw Sweet Fuse into the ring for its novelty in multiple points.

My otome journey actually started with the Harukanaru series—I played the first one without knowing any Japanese, purely powered by my love for the art. Honestly, I still don't know if I understood the story correctly  I even bought a PS2 for Haruka 3 and a Switch for Haruka 7. The plot of Haruka 3 remains the peak of otome storytelling in my heart.

Desert kingdom.
Since PS Vita games are being ported to the Switch, I hope PSP games will be as well.

Real Rode. It's not the best otome game; there are a lot of things the developers could have done better, but I find this game so cute and fun, and the fact that it was the first otome game in Japanese that I played and managed to finish makes it hold a special place in my heart.

Tetrascope games- Sakuya, Watajuu, Club suicide and self published otome doujins are all very underrated cause they almost never get english translation.

If I had to choose one, I'd choose Drastic Killer. When I first discovered it, I became obsessed with it and played it for days. It's a game I always come back to. I must say, the way you obtain fragments of characters' memories (all those moans) was quite curious. I've never met anyone who knew about the game to share my grief, unfortunately. I would also mention Kaeru Batake DE Tsukamaete, but TAKUYO's games always suffer.

scarlet fate and kenka bancho otome i think both are really good games but i rarely see people talking about them which is honestly a shame bc they deserve a lot more recognition

It's Hwanju Cafe. The game is quite famous, but a fan disc hasn't been released yet. It's a really fun game, so I'm really sad that a fan disc hasn't come out.

Blackish House is a personal fav I rarely see in the wild! It's one of the few games which has been able to truly provide slow-burn romance that *also* doesn't end as soon as the two characters get together. (Also as someone who likes abusive romances in my otome, it does a staggeringly good job at those too)

heavy on heart cage and blooming panic!

i think i could recommend the series of dot kareshi games as a funny short but nice otomes to play! rejet has some amazing unknown projects (tokyo yamanote boys too! i am an ambassador of this game ngl)

and yeah maybe it's not so niche and underrated although i don's see much hype about them now but starry sky (all parts and fan disks) is old but gold: amazing cast of seiyuus i love the mc and how different all the male leads are and art style and of course the stories of each character! honeybee was surely big back then with all its projects!

I really really like HanaKare! I kinda wish there was more to the story since I wanna know more from each couple!

Sweet Fuse: At Your Side more people should play. I love Saki the protagonist with her "What the hell?!" shouts
Yeeees! I loved her telling all these dudes off.
This game really needs a switch port imo
This is probably a big reason it's not as well-known. It's on dated software. It was released on the PSP back in a time where western otomes were very unknown, and there wasn't a huge market for them, if at all, and sure you could then find it on the Vita PSN, but you had to know to look for it, and Vita had its own share of problems!

'Storm Lover Kai' was one that I found fun to interact with, if you focus on your romantic interest, it's cool for your mc with him, congratulations. But if he walks in on you flirting with another character..., good luck.

Some of the games I've seen before completely separate the characters or simply ignore the MC's interactions with others, so I was a little surprised by these reactions at first, but very inclined to explore more of the game ^u^

Quinrose's Oumagatoki ~Kaidan Romance~. Most characters in this game is crazy in good sense XDDDD(Especially one of the guyXDDDD, you will agree if you played). I love heroine. Her sense of humor is the best. The flow of romance is unexpectedlly nice and I got engaged in this game happily the whole journey, even fandisk (with fandisk then would make a full picture of that crazy guy's mentality)
