Your opinion on otome gacha games

To be honest, because my luck isn't great, I end up spending more time and money on games like otome gacha games or other gacha-style games. And even when I actively do quests, side missions, and save up for te,pulls, most of the time I only end up getting the guaranteed minimum rewards.

So I try to avoid playing these types of games unless I really like them.

I don't like them. Gacha games create a lot of pressure because of FOMO, and I just can't enjoy such a game. If I have to log in every day without exception to keep up, it becomes nothing more than a chore. I also don't like to be stuck on a game for very long, especially one that puts so much pressure on you, so that's also a point. Everything is presented to you in tiny sections and it is necessary that you play and pay for them over a long period of time if you want to know the whole story. I don't want the story to be fed to me in this way. I also don't like microtransactions at all, so...

I used to play them quite a long time ago but the most attractive part was collection rather than enjoyment of the story or the characters themselves. And it's vey costing and even boring after a while then I stopped. For now still waiting the "main story" to finish (that part usually don't need new character/card)~

It's a love-hate relationship, really. I try one, then I drop it, then try it again in an infinite loop lol.
Often the main story and Lis draw me in, but then the gacha mechanics, the dailies and all that stuff tire me out really quickly - especially since I am not really too interested in alternative universe events and things like that, I would rather have more main story content (though I get that it's how they make more money with the time limited stuff). I also don't like to spend money on that kind of life service, if I have to spend anything I would rather buy a whole finished game, and most of these games aren't really f2p friendly.

I used to like gacha games before I got the switch. Now I don't enjoy spending time on it because I am used to getting through the story without any additional purchases

Not really a fan of otome gachas or even a lot of gachas in general. Well, meta-wise and their practices. I'm fine with their stories, characters, art, etc. There's the predatory practicices, FOMO, and legal gambling. And most of the time, it feels like playing them is to maintain accounts rather than actually playing. Would rather spend my money on other things I could buy and definitely get rather than paying for better chances to get something I want from a gacha.

Unless they respect my time or is f2p friendly, I usually tend to end up dropping gachas days to months later lol.

Everyone said all the downsides so I'll add that on the bright side you can get constant content of your bias unlike visual novels where it's happy ending then over lol.

I get very tempted if I see a character that really appeals to me, but generally I try to fight the temptation and avoid gacha games.
I've gotten deeply hooked on a few gacha games, and have sometimes spent quite a lot of money on them, but I always fall behind eventually and then the FOMO starts to make the game stressful to catch up on. I'd find myself treating it as more of a chore, because I'd log in and do dailies not because I felt like playing the game but because I didn't want to fall behind. Live service games with new content always coming out means I'll be missing out on content if I take a break to focus on other games.
If a game says F2P, I'm much less likely to play, because I'd much rather buy a game upfront as a complete package that I can enjoy at my own pace.

I spent a lot of money on *Yumekuro*, but I lacked the funds to collect all my favorite characters, and my luck with the random gacha draws was terrible, so I ended up quitting before the service shut down. It was fun at first, but eventually, the gacha mechanics took over the experience; I realized that one-time purchase games suit me better when it comes to *otome* titles, so I've been staying away from it lately. That said, the constant addition of new illustrations was incredibly appealing.

While I'm not a fan of the predatory business practices behind gacha games, I would be lying if I said I never play them (I jump around a lot of them, f2p only). That being said, in terms of otome gachas, while i like the constant content updates for the LIs, I prefer the complete package I can get with a fully fleshed otome game on consoles/pcs that has a beginning middle and end (and not having to constantly buy content for my favs lol)

I play gacha otome on and off. As already mentioned, the gambling aspect and inability to take things at your own pace without missing out on parts of the story really sucks. I separate the art from the monetization system and try to enjoy what I can without in-app purchases, sometimes relying on other people's recordings of the content I missed. Occasionally I will buy the merch so I can still support the creatives behind the scenes because at least that way I'm guaranteed to get what I want unlike buying pulls.

One unpopular opinion I have is that gacha is not the worst format for a game. It's bad, don't get me wrong, but the read with 5 tickets per day model was so much worse. Each ticket only let you read a paragraph and it would take forever to read 40min worth of content. They were almost always low budget whether it be art, writing, or lack of voices. I remember trying out a game with this system where I made enough right options for a good ending but it locked me out of it because I was F2P so I could only read the normal end. Also any CGs that were meant to show up throughout the route were 80% blacked out too unless a micro-transaction was performed. At least if you're lucky in a gacha game and get a limited card through a free pull you still get to experience the all of the story, art, and voice acting it comes with!!!

gacha = milking barn
lets be for real, I'm among the global players. pattern is already foreseen; local otomes become global for a short while, then it won't be long until they shut down. I'm so tireddd lmao (A3, Mr. Love and many more)

I hate gacha systems, but I love the game story plots and characters so much that I play it anyway. This includes MLCQ (no longer on globar server), TOT, L&N, Cybird Ikemen series, and so many others.

I do play gacha games, but have never spent money on them (too broke for that), so i mainly try pulling with my free resources that I save up on:LOL:
I don't think I will ever spend money on gacha games in general unless it is a one time purchase and I know I will definitely get what I want, but that defeats the gacha purpose, and I simply am not willing to spend so much just to gamble and not get what I want

gacha otome games were my go-to games back then. i used to play them non-stop, but the daily grind got so tedious, and then hitting hard pity on top of that made it worse 😓. i really liked tears of themis in particular, but the spark just isn't there anymore. i still log in to do my dailies out of habit, but i don't sit down and play for hours like i used to :')

I do enjoy otome gacha games, and I've had a lot of fun with some of them. The only problem is that they start to feel more like a daily obligation than a game after a while. I much prefer regular otome games where I can take breaks and come back whenever I want without missing anything!

What I like about them is that they constantly get new cards, story updates, and more content to fangirl over. What I don't like is the pressure to pull and the fact that you can't fully enjoy the content if it's locked behind purchases. The experience doesn't feel very immersive.

Overall, though, gacha games give me burnout in the long run. I've quit several joseimuke games and only stick with a few because I like the characters and the gameplay is simple. BUT what I value the most is the story.

I tried Tears of Themis, but I only read up to ch. 3 of the main story. After that, there are things like bond stories(?), which I haven't readed it and I'm not even sure how they work. Cybird games also let you read your character's story by spending tickets, I think, but I never got very far. Their usual gameplay just didn't catch my attention.

They're not bad games, but they require a big investment, whether that's time, money, or both. If the system isn't rewarding on its own, such as having good pity system, no event reruns, or no fully voiced stories, then I doubt I'll give otome gacha games another try D:

I like otome gacha games because they might keep updating with new storylines and characters, but if it costs too much money, I won't play them. After all, if the game ends its service, that money basically disappears — it just feels too unstable/unreliable.

I think the thrill of not knowing what you'll get and the sense of happiness when you get what you wanted make it an interesting game mechanic. However, there are also significant downsides, such as the money and time it can consume.
As for me, once I start, I tend to get so absorbed that I won't stop until I get what I want, so I stay away from those kinds of things😓

I don't really like them. I've played a few before, but I eventually ended up dropping them. One reason is that the gacha system just costs way too much money and takes up too much time. Another reason is that the stories in these games are usually incomplete. I much prefer playing games that have a full, complete story right from the start.

I hate gachas with my entire guts.
Most of them have a mediocre story at best, because they care more for stretching it in a c**p way and making unnecessary and bothersome mechanics to make the players spend more time inside the game and "encouraging" them into spending money than crafting a good story with a decent passing. And don't even make me start about gacha cards for otomege, paying just for chunks of scenarios of the LIs sounds so ridiculous to me. Even DLCs feel more respectful since at least they don't push me into a casino/roulette.
Also I like to play my games in my own rhythm so a game that "forces"/"encourage" me to play it every single day like a job is a pain. Especially since usually the routine mechanics aren't even that fun, and even if they are I still can get a burnout.

I used to play a lot of gachas in my teenage but honestly now that I have my own money I just prefer to buy and play complete games. Even if I end up stumbling upon a disappointing one at least I will know the entire plot before it vanishes from earth lol
