I love historical, especially when the clothing designs are accurate to the era they're in.

Other than the fashion, I really enjoy the strict etiquette and social gatherings like balls or tea parties. I also prefer the main character to actually live in that era, rather than them being an isekaid or reincarnation from modern world.

I voted for historical, fantasy, and darker themes. 😂 Honestly, it's hard for me to pick just one because there's something I love about each of them.
I'm really drawn to historical settings because of the atmosphere, but especially when they come with intrigue, secrets, and characters with some kind of power or status. Fantasy probably gives me the most freedom to get completely lost in a story: magic, strange worlds, creatures, and things you just wouldn't find in a normal setting.
And darker themes… well, you definitely have me there. 👀 I love stories with a more mysterious or intense atmosphere, especially when there are secrets to uncover and the story doesn't reveal everything right away. If it also has good twists and makes me question what I thought I knew, I'm probably completely hooked. 😂
I think overall I just like otome games that feel like an adventure rather than just "girl meets some guys and lives a normal life." Give me a story full of secrets and I'm happy. 😭

I love when historical games have intrigue in the plot, also, societal rules make for great character conflicts. I think I play fantasy the most, but my favorite is slice of life, I love wholesome games.

I tend to go for a mix of historical with dark themes and slice of life! Especially with historical these days—I think historical stories with good plots and romance have been my favorite so far!

Can you give me recommendation? I crave otome game with darker themes >_< I am in the mood for some thrilling, mysterious stories but it is hard to find.

My favorite horror/fantasy like homicipher and 9rip. I like ghosts, monsters ,ayakashi and urban legends. I play a lot non otome visual novels or survival horror games maybe thats why i love this topic.

For me, the genres I'll always keep coming back to are slice-of-life and historical. Right now, I'm pretty fed up with the whole isekai trend; there are just too many titles—from manga and manhwa to anime—relying on that trope 🙃

I'm also not a huge fan of otome fantasy—it feels a bit too unrealistic and far-fetched for my taste—though I'm still open to it if the storyline is good.

I like the setting of fantasy worlds, which can unlock many strange character identities, and the plot can also be full of fantasy colors and diverse! The unexpected plot always makes people want to continue playing.✩*:.˶˃ ᵕ ˂˵ .:*✩

I love worlds with a classical feel (ancient settings, like the Middle Ages or Renaissance), where I can enjoy tea or horseback riding with royalty or nobility.

I also love alternate worlds (space science fiction, parallel or multiple worlds, etc.) with their vast and profound different dimensions.
The thought of being reborn or traveling through time to become a part of one of them is fascinating.
I wonder how old and new ideas and systems would clash and what impact they would have.

I think I prefer modern-day settings. I'm happy with either a sweet, cozy romance that feels like something that could happen in everyday life, or a more thrilling romance where you get caught up in some kind of incident. I also love low fantasy!

That said, when it comes to stories centered around work, I might get a little distracted if the characters completely neglect their jobs and spend all their time focusing on romance. 😅

Probably fantasy settings! I love when an otome has good worldbuilding, magic, kingdoms, political intrigue, or supernatural elements. Historical/European-inspired settings are also a big plus for me, especially when the story takes itself seriously.
