Your favorite bad endings

What are your favorite otome endings? I have this: 1) Collar × Malice — «Your Chronicle» (vocals: Plastic Tree) Relief tinged with a touch of light sadness. This melancholic yet hopeful rock ballad is heard during the game's happy endings. After intense psychological pressure, deadly puzzles, and constant fear for the heroes' lives, this track feels like a long-awaited, safe dawn over Shinjuku. 2) Piofiore: Fated Memories — «Whispering Hope» (vocals: Mao) Solemnity and peace. The Italian mafia chronicles of Piofiore are full of brutality, but this ending, performed by Mao's tender vocals, provides a feeling of absolute catharsis. The music sounds like a church ballad or a lullaby, the perfect conclusion to complex and dangerous tracks. 3) Hakuoki (series of games) — «Akane Sora ni Negau» (vocals: Aika Yoshioka) Bittersweet nostalgia and tears. The Hakuoki franchise is renowned for its dramatic intensity. This final track, with traditional Japanese instruments and piercing vocals, sums up the Shinsengumi's historical tragedy. It leaves a poignant sense of accomplishment and eternal love despite the passing of time. 4) Virche Evermore -Error: Salvation- — « Ibitsu » (vocals: verbose) Psychological horror and madness. The game itself is marketed as an "otome of eternal despair," where death stalks all the inhabitants of a cursed island. This ending breaks classic conventions: a broken rhythm, distorted vocals, and oppressive electronics convey the mental shock of the characters trapped in a hopeless hell. 5) Hakuoki: Kyoto Winds / Edo Blossoms — « Taiyou ga Umareru Basho » (vocals: Aika Yoshioka) Noble Sorrow. When fatal wounds or the Rasetsu curse take the life of your beloved Shinsengumi warrior, this track delivers an emotional blow. Aika Yoshioka's tragic vocals, accompanied by traditional instruments, convey the pain of loneliness for the protagonist Chizuru, left amid the ashes of a bygone era. 6) Piofiore: Fated Memories — « Fault » (vocals: Mao) A bitter lament for ruined lives. Piofiore is known for its brutally cruel bad endings, where betrayal, captivity, and death await the heroes. The heavy, dark melody of this ending sounds like a requiem for Liliana's pure love, mercilessly trampled by the cruel world of the Italian mafia. 7) Collar × Malice — « there is » (vocals: Plastic Tree) Absolute hopelessness and emptiness. The tragic, languid guitar strums of alternative rock perfectly underscore the moments when the main character, Itika, dies, goes mad with grief, or becomes an accomplice to crime. The music literally makes you physically feel the collapse of hope.

One of Himuka's from Olympia Soirée where Hairi is involved… I may or may not have a thing for rude younger boys, and the entire time I was playing it, my friends knew I was eyeing him—I was very vocal about that. So when I got to that ending, I was too excited for someone who got a bad ending. Honestly, quite a few bad ends from that game seemed just for shock value, but I was having a good time nonetheless.

I also very much enjoyed some Virche FD ends. Specifically, the ones where the MC is undergoing bodily transformation and the LIs also get to suffer because of it. I ate up that one Adolphe ending where he's getting basically mauled by MC on the daily but chooses to stay living with MC in isolation. And this other one has MC asking to be killed, but Adolphe and Ankou refuse to let MC die. Ahh, I wish that one had a CG with the way they described the two sandwiching MC…

One of the bad endings that really moved me is the one in Bustafellows Season 1, Limbo route. Teuta ends up being killed, and Limbo abandons all his principles for her, even resorting to using a gun.
A classic bad ending is Jumin's from Mystic Messenger XD

The most unforgettable endings for me are probably from Piofiore: Fated Memories. I really loved Nicola's ending because he looked so painfully heartbroken 😭

And then there's 9 R.I.P… some of the endings and characters genuinely shocked me.

Also Virche Evermore… the tragic endings were so painfully emotional that they honestly made my heart feel shattered 💔

As in game endings, Orlok's Bad Ending in Fated Memories and Suit Saeran's in Mystic Messenger take the crown for meeee. But Dante's bad endings also hit real hard, they had me tearing up. There's also Mathis' despair ending in Virche which had me making this face from how fucked up it was. Same with Lucas' from the same game WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCK anyway I need Mathis to be actually happy and have a happy ending for once TT

As in bad end songs tho, Last Twilight from Piofiore 1926 man... I feel like it's very fitting for a lot of games idk it's the saddest song I've heard in an otoge.

Collar×Malice -Unlimited,"In the Adonis route, the 'Light' ending is considered the true ending, isn't it? That ending truly astonished me — the visuals paired with the BGM were absolutely amazing!"

every single bad ending in Shuuen no Virche really stuck with me. The whole vibe of the game is just so sad and hopeless."

I love all the bad endings in viche. Ngl, i'm not always play the bad ending and just skip throught it because i cry easily lmao
But since virche is forced me to do bad ending so i end up loving it.

But the bad ending that i love is always when the heroine is die, i love to see the LI reaction and their despair.

In "硝子のこんぺいとう" the male protagonist pretends to be blind and blames the female protagonist for his blindness, thus living a sweet life together.

I have to say, this is a really great question. I had a stage that really hate bad end and skip the bad end by playing with strategy guide. But later noticed that bad end is also a part of story, better to read them throught, at least by reading strategy guide I can have it prepared mentally (in BL world, the bad end is even more brutal than in otome's, somehow I got trained by BL game maybeXDDD)

In otome world, the one I still remember now is Diabolik Lover's Ruki bad end in more blood. He suicided by jumping from height, that really shocked me. (Not sure is it my favourite bad ending though)

Nicola's bad ending where Dante dies and Nicola locks Lili in the mansion is kinda hot ngl. Then we have Virche, it was so twisted. The writers got really creative, lol. I liked Scien's Despair end the most. Carrying out a plan he didn't like at first to create Relivers able to contain emotions, just to have his hopes shattered and Ceres dying... ooof. To see such a stoic man completely broken was wonderful
