Would you rather have a terrible plot with amazing chemistry or an amazing plot with zero chemistry?

Would you rather play an otome game with an incredibly well-written story, interesting characters, and amazing plot twists, but absolutely ZERO romantic chemistry between the heroine and the LIs?

OR

A game with a completely ridiculous plot, questionable writing, and a story that barely makes sense, but the romantic chemistry is SO good that you can't stop playing?

Personally, I feel like chemistry can carry a lot, but there's definitely a limit to how much bad writing I can tolerate...

Which one would you choose?

I would prefer chemistry although i never played a game where the couple was amazing and the plot was awful

I'd also prefer chemistry! Although the plot is important, for me romance is more important in otome games. If the chemistry is bad then I'd probably ending up feeling disappointed and wondered if I actually played an otome game lol. That's why I'm more ok with the plot being bad or taking a backseat if it means the chemistry between the MC and the LIs is amazing.

Oof, that's hard, but I'll have to go for the story. Although I tend to play otomes for the romance, I think I would be more motivated to finish a game for the story than just relying on the chemistry.

I guess I'd have to chose legendary romance with a shitty plot. If the chemistry is good enough, it'll probably balance out the horrible story telling. Thought you are right, if the plot is tooo wild then maybe not

I think when characters have great chemistry, you end up loving them even if the story is mediocre—so you keep playing while complaining about the plot. On the flip side, if the chemistry is weak but the story is good, you don't really grow any attachment to the characters, which actually makes you drop the game halfway through.

absolutely, i'd choose chemistry. since it's an otome game, it would feel pointless if the mc and the lis had zero romantic chemistry (˶ˆᗜˆ˵)

I'm more character > plot person because I need to be invested in the characters. Lack of overt romance like takuyo's titles are fine for me but lack of chemistry is not gonna make me invested

This is a bit hard for me to decide I usually care more about the story and can let go of things like romantic feels, but thinking about it more I feel like if the interactions between characters are bad then just having a good plot probably wouldn't be enough to draw me in either, because I'm at least somewhat there for that little bit of romantic interaction.
