Would you prefer to see the characters from the previous works appear in the subsequent sequels? I have mixed feelings about this situation, especially if this character was previously a Lls for the main storyline, but in the subsequent works, he is assigned another not MC as his official partner. If the previous work was a Lls for the main storyline, and the sequel continues with the previous work's Lls as the main storyline's partner. Unless the MC's setting has an extension, otherwise it feels a bit subtle. If the previous work was not a Lls, the acceptance level would be much higher. If the subsequent appearance is with the MC from the previous work living a happy life, then it is very welcome.

It depends on whether the sequel is defined as a fan-oriented release (FD) or a sequel (featuring the same characters from the previous game but with a completely new story, or a completely different cast).
If a FD only adds epilogues featuring characters from the previous game, and those characters are merely minor characters or relegated to supporting roles in the main story, I can accept it.
Sometimes sequels try to capitalize on the success of the original by deliberately featuring characters from the previous game, or even creating new romantic pairings: I'll check the content of the new pairings' storylines.
Of course, ideally, the original partners would simply start a new story on the spot (unless they've passed away or their whereabouts are unknown).

Wait, tell me you are joking and there are no such works. Right? Right??? 😨 I refuse to believe someone would be awful enough to create something similar, what is even the point in it 😭

I think it really depends. I wouldn't mind seeing them in the background or something, but if they show up in the main story itself, it can feel sort of forced or fanservice-y.

However, if the story has clearly always intended for this, then I don't mind too much . . . I just dislike when it's an obvious cashgrab. I also think that there's a risk to showing them again and changing their "epilogue" from what the player imagined: it can ruin it.

If the player believes that after the game ended, they all died, then thats fine; its their belief. But if you canonize it, then you really /do/ have to think about it - does it fit the themes of the game, does it work, is it satisfying? And often games don't do this in their haste to show characters again to lure old players back in. I dislike that.

However, a little fanservice-y hint /toward/ them existing or being happy in a future world isn't so bad. I'd like it to dance around their existence, never really confirming things one way or the other, but rather hinting toward what the author(s) intended.
