I used to go through an entire game quickly before but now that I am older I space my games and take my time completing the game. Many people I know have quit playing games and watching anime cause they don't relate to high schooler protagonists and all? But I don't think I will ever quit playing though and will be a granny happily playing my otome games forever

Hmm, at the end its just a game thou? I dont think there is a problem playing game including otome game for your internal life. Its look like a hobby such as read a book, watching your fav movie, etc etc.

"Being human already exhausted, so let me do something what i wanted".

At least something that you can enjoy for your living and thats not bothering people, you free for play game anything, anytime.

This is such a thoughtful question. I can relate it to so well.

When I was in middle school, my world kind of revolved around anime/manga. It was something that kept me busy during summer break and when new series/episodes came out it was something I looked forward to. The series I loved as a child are extremely meaningful to me. Now in terms of otome games, it is just as special to me. I remember every time I found out a new series was fan translated I was over the moon like super super excited. Those moments really were impactful to me and helped me moved through. Just like you, I play slower now as an adult. I also don't watch anime a lot but will do from time to time. I can't keep up with the newest trend or releases BUT I don't think I will ever give up my passion for otome games and anime/manga. I think I'll love it for a lifetime and I hope I'd still be able to replay old games as an old lady.

No one I know around me ie family/friends are into otome either so I'm happy to know the otome community here are just as passionate about it as me!

I don't think I'll ever completely quit playing otome games.. Sure, I might play fewer games as time goes on, but still, I don't think I'll ever fully stop

I'll most likely continue playing them in the future, even if I play fewer than I do in the present.

I never get those who go "I can't play/watch/read this because I can't relate to the protagonists!!!" There's a lot of media with protagonists I find myself unable to relate to and yet I enjoy those media.

I don't think I'll ever quit playing otome games, reading manga, or watching anime. I grew up with them. Slowing down is probable, but stopping altogether is impossible.

One guy told me that otome games make girls have high standards. He said I need to be an adult, stop playing them, and face reality. He made it sound like playing otome games makes me blind to the real world.
:korokke_uwooo:

Of course. You can play otome at any age. Plenty of elderly people enjoy video games with characters nowhere near their age even. Why entertain another's opinion on how to live your life, especially about a hobby that's suppose to give your happiness?

I don't see myself ever growing out of enjoying them. It's even better now that I'm an adult, since I have the means to buy whatever games and merch I want. Just thinking about expanding my collection over the years makes me super happy (*´ω`*)
Even if life gets busy and I have to slow down, it's nice to have something to come back to.

To be honest I might never stop... but also I imagine that even if I get much busier I'll still try to find time to play them, because they're just that important to me (*⁰▿⁰*)
Ive been playing games since I was little and I don't think that will change, only the frequency

Never mind otome games—actually, now that I'm getting older, I find it really hard to take in new things. I just keep sticking to the things I used to like, and I don't have the same drive to play games all the time like I used to. Maybe as you get older, your hobbies just settle into a routine…

I've never thought about that. I might play fewer because there's no time, but being unable to relate to protagonists definitely not the reason.

Before I thought that I would "grow" out of otome games and animanga stuff, but now I know that I will enjoy them forever. I think I had a misguided idea that it was just a phase or that the media itself was childish. Now I can tell my younger self that there is no shame in loving what you love. In fact, its so fun to enjoy childhood series when your older because you kinda get to reexperience it and see it through another lens.

I may have some periods where I dont play, but I'll most likely hop back into the hobby because I love it.

I think I'll still be playing otome games even when I'm a grandma, haha. Of course, as I've gotten older, there have been some games where I've found myself thinking that I probably would have enjoyed them even more if I had played them when I was younger. It can be a little bittersweet to feel that way, but I still have plenty of fun with otome games.

The only problem is that real life keeps me so busy that I don't always have enough time to play. Still, I really hope I'll be playing otome games even when I'm a grandma. By then, I feel like we might even have VR otome games or something, haha. I want to stick around long enough to see how much further the genre develops and experience even more immersive content, so I'm definitely planning to live a long and healthy life. 😂

I want to keep playing otome games no matter how old I get. It's important to me, so it would be very sad to just stop playing them just because I'm getting older. The highscooler in me will never go away, I'll just broaden my horizons the older I get, so I don't see any reason to stop enjoying what I had before. I even still like some of the movies and series I liked as a very young child! Why shouldn't I enjoy otome games as a grandma! When I'm retired, I'll even have a lot of time to play them!

Forever! I'm going to keep playing, no matter what!
Things are pretty busy right now, but I hope I'll have more time to play in the future.

The feelings that otome games give me will never fade. Being able to play them is just the best! XD

I am definitely 100% going to play forever! For me, otome games are a source of spiritual nourishment. I cannot do without them, and if possible, I will continue to do so. Playing otome games is a very happy thing for me.

If im eternally single then yeah probably lmfao, atleast till im middle aged... hopefully otome games start making more DILFs for when that time comes because i cant imagine being a 50 year old playing a game about dating some 20 year old man anymore 🥲🥲
