Why did you start playing otone ganes?

One word... "Pachthesis"

I was a curious child who loved anime and flash games at the time. Then I casually stumbled into a flash dating sim on a site. The game system was quite enjoyable, but I wished they would make something where the girl was the protagonist. I did know that in Japan, games like that existed, but here, the girls' games were anything but half-baked disasters decorated in pink and glitter. One day, searching on Deviantart, I think I came across Pachthesis's profile, and that´s where my addiction started XD.

Her games were so good!!! Especially for a Latin kid without any means to obtain a good girl´s game. I used to play her games on loop. Later, I finally got into proper localized otomes, but I had never forgotten that thanks to Pacthesis´ games, I found one of my favorite game genres.

I think I saw an ad for a Voltage game a few years back and that sent me down the rabbit hole lol

I was initially drawn in by the art style, character design, and story world-building, and also wanted to pass the time, so I actively sought it out.

I enjoy trying different works, understanding the author's vision, personally exploring the characters' charm, and appreciating beautiful background music and theme songs. It's really fun!

I like the voice acting in jp titles. Then I found that you can appreciate it even better in vns, and even more in otome games with ikemen. So yeah, I found paradise.

Ive always liked romance stories and really liked the idea of an interactive one, I started with story slop games on android (the shitty ones with the paywalled good choices LOL) . Started playing mystic messenger but the timegating pissed me off, I stumbled into switch otome games and have never looked back since

At first, I only saw otome CGs in AMV, but I had no idea what otome games actually were. Later, when the villainess trend in manga and manhwa became popular, I finally knew about the genre and decided to give it a try. It turned out to be exactly what I was looking for. I really enjoy the romance, getting to know each character through their routes, and seeing how every relationship develops. It has become one of my favorite genres ever since. :alice_love:

I've always been into the romance genre, so I used to watch harem anime and play bishoujo games. Not for any special reason—they're just everywhere. Then I realized there's a whole genre of romance games like that, but with guys. It sounds pretty dumb, but I actually had no idea 'otome games' were even a thing until then lol.
