Why did you start playing otone ganes?

Ooh, that was so long ago, I don't even remember why XD I think I stumbled upon Genius games, and My Sweet Ghost really stuck with me back then (which is probably why 9 R.i.p. is one of my favorites now). Honestly, otome games have become the best anime content for me, hehe

For me, it actually started as a fun way to practice my Japanese. I wanted to improve my language skills, so I strictly stuck to the Japanese versions of the games. Since otome games have full voice acting, they are honestly perfect for practicing listening and learning new vocabulary.
Another huge reason is that I'm a massive fan of seiyuu. I usually pick my next game based on whether my favorite seiyuu are in the cast. Hearing their amazing performances while studying the language makes the whole experience so much more rewarding and enjoyable!

Well it started with romance anime/manga then I found out these romance games where I could pick who to romance and alittle bit of loneliness

When I was young, I was bored and played some flash visual novels. Some of them were Pacthesis' games and wanted more something like that. I had to wait for years for otome games to finally get fan patches or localizations lol

Because when I was young, I really liked the idea of getting to know a fictional character xd I could interact, and whose decisions affected the story

I loved anime and shojo manga so when I found out there is otome game where you can date hot 2D guys yourself I had to try it!
I would say I was interested more in otome game than other regular games.

I tried otome games because I'm a big fan of narrative games. I was really attracted by their immersive romantic stories and wonderful voice acting, and I've kept playing ever since.🥳

It all started with Tokimeki Memorial Girl's Side on the DS ° I had no idea what an otome game was at the time, but the handsome characters caught my eye and I had to try it . there is also the fact that there are so few games out there featuring a female protagonist or focusing on the female gaze so ° (I wish they gave us a female option in games like Persona and Trails of Cold Steel series x.x). So yeah Finding a genre entirely dedicated to that was amazing *also it's really relaxing too* ~

I like reading, and i like romance! but sadly, my favorite character, most of the time, ended up being the 2nd lead, or just random MC's friend who got no love story. I wish i could get there and pick them instead, 😢. so thats why i like otome games, or any interactive novels, where i can choose and date my boys in peace 😌. also, yea, i need my doses of romance and handsome men.

My first otome games is RF:Alistair. and i don't even know otome games is a genre. but it was a good first impression, and otome games is still my favs genre until now ❤

when I was young, just searched some of PSP games which one should I play next and found a game cover that looks beautiful and it was my first otome game that I play is Amnesia. I don't remember the reason beside a beautiful art (is it bc this's the first time I found the main character is female or something else?) I just played it without finding out more bc back then idk about visual novel and otome game at all www and that game is the reason why I learned Japanese and found fav seiyuus

In elementary and middle school, I first watched the otome anime. When I looked it up, I found out it was adapted from a video game, so I played the PC version, and then I bought a PSP and a DS...

I think I replied to a similar post yesterday, but it was about 8 years ago. I started with Ikemen Revolution, then Mr Love Queen's Choice, and then other visual novels and Otomes.

It actually started when I happened to watch a streamer playing it. That got me interested. Since I tend to prefer interactive narrative games games, and those often have lots of choices, I wanted to try making different choices myself and see how the story branches out. So I started trying out different games.

Omg, my first Otome game ever was this mobile game called "my forged wedding" back when I was in MIDDLE SCHOOL, so there's 6 ML and u entered a fake wedding with them (I forgot why) but I remember downloading cuz I thought those anime men were handsome lol and I ended up choosing the tsundere 😭 anyways, I was inexperienced so I didn't really know how to play and gave up after a while but it was fun. Apparently the game is still alive now as "my forged wedding: PARTY"

I actually started playing otome games because of Play Store ads. Honestly, those ads are so wild and dramatic, but they totally worked on me! 😁

back in junior high school era, my friend introduced love revo from her NDS emulator to me. Addicted to it but annoyed getting the normal ed, not touched any other otome games since that day. i think norn9 is the real reason i try playing other otome games titles.

After i completed the endings for Mystic messenger i went on google playstore to look for similar games...and then it got progressively more intense till i became a otome addict since i was already a wattpad girlie. though i did take a break inbetween becuase my smartbrick was somehow bad enough that it couldnt run voltage inc games without crashing. im happy the indie scene has developed so much banger titles becuase all the old otome i played were all samey to a degree but i lowkey miss that first hit of searan and seven i fear none of the titles i played has tickled my brain as much

Mostly for escapism. After a bad breakup, it felt "safer" to escape into the world of fiction. It's nice to live out the fantasy of every handsome character in your immediate vicinity going feral/simping for you. Power-imbalance situations are also way more enjoyable when I'm sitting in front of a screen. (If I can, I tend to go for the teacher! Almost always.)

A friend introduced me to the old Voltage games when we were talking about Korean dramas. It just kind of went from there, I've always loved romance stories, so otome games ended up being a perfect fit for me.

When I was little, my sister and I used to share the computer to play games, she showed me an online otome game and after that I starte looking in the app store for more games.
So it's all my sister's fault 🤭
