Why did you start playing otone ganes?

In my case it was completely random, I didn't even know the genre, but I thought the game cover was beautiful. And here I am to this day, having tried a little bit of every game genre has been worth it.

Initially, I just wanted to play some relaxing games that don't require much effort. Then I slowly realized that these visual novel style PPT games are actually super enjoyable — perfect for lazy people like me.(∂ω∂)

I started playing otome games without knowing it was otome games, since I've always been a fan of visual novels i, one day see on steam a game named amnesia memories for cheap and bought it and i started really liking the game and the whole experience of picking choices and having different routes with different characters, i later started getting more n more into this genre before i notice that i have played many of them in the past when i was still just a kid ( like StarrySky )

Around when Amnesia was new on Steam, I believe. That was how I started. I already knew what visual novels were at the time, and I liked the idea of female protagonist. Felt almost like a "genderbend" of galge to me, as I wasn't familiar with "otome" as a genre.

i love romance!!! (♡°▽°♡)
i have loved reading romance stories as a wittle baby in elementary school and they were always my favorite movies back then so it just naturally game to progress from there.

i'm positive fanfiction and quizzes led me from anime to other characters where it eventually came from an otome. (´。• ᵕ •。`) there's also the point of a lot of older handheld games targeted to younger girls always seemed to have a love interest or flirty side characters as a segue into the creature i've become.

I came across a gameplay video and the genre piqued my interest, so I delved into this world haha 🎀

I was in search of ways to fullfill my loneliness and i always liked fictional men so i just ended here hahaha

It's good emotional comfort.Every otome game gives me a different experience — I get to be a different version of myself in each one. The boys are so handsome and fulfill all my romantic fantasies. They're really just wonderful.

At a flea market, I managed to buy a pirated cd version YojinBo. It was a time where the internet was still prepaid cards and dial up. I had no idea it was called an otome game. But i played it and enjoyed it so much. I wanted to play another game like that , but during that time piracy crackdown was so aggressive, no flea market seller dared to sell bootleg copies on events anymore. Fast forward years later during my uni days, livejournal was very much alive and someone posted a patch for Starry Sky. The thrill of a romance focused choose your own ending game rekindled. The rest is history.

I like reading the stories in otome games because I can choose the options I want. Also, it's similar to reading shojo manga.

ahh the golden age of hooking days and language packs

To be honest, when I first played one, I didn't actually know what an otome game was, though I did know what a galgame was, because I'd watched the anime adaptations of galgames at the time. I really enjoyed the stories, so I'd played a few galgames. My first encounter with otome games came when I saw the beautiful artwork in Heart no Kuni no Alice. Although I didn't know what the game was about, it looked like it was based on Alice in the Wonderland, and as I'm a big fan of Alice-themed stories, I decided to give it a go. It was only after playing it that I realised the female-oriented version of galgames is called otome game. I've been hooked ever since:LOL:

Honestly, I just watched a romance anime (Horimiya) and immediately started looking for games with a similar vibe because the story and art style were so beautiful. That's how I ended up falling down the otome world!!! (≧∇≦)/

I wanted more out of reverse harem anime! A lot of the time, i was interested in a side li or just didn't like the main li, so i was immediately drawn to otome games because there were so many routes and you could get with every character.

I just enjoy the romance stories and good character writing.

It's like I want a visual novel to read since I didn't have internet at that time, and a visual novel with romance for female audiences? Enough to pique my interest.
The reason was quite hilarious since my parents cut off the internet so I can study more effectively at home...

Was more interested in stories that centers girls/women as the protagonist! Adding romance to it and happy endings cheer me up xD

When I start to play the otome games the TV episodes and amine usually had stories about one guy with several women, which I didn't like it so I was searching for stories that were the other way around. Now it gets better that there are different TV story types for people to choose, but otome games is still attracting that you can see how a story gets different with different choice and routes
