Why are manga/ manhwa titles so absurd??

As the title states, why are they so over specific and long winded? I've kind of fell off the manga bandwagon a couple years ago, and am just know getting back into it.

Like why would you go and name your book "I got reincarnated as a bath tub and my master refuses to use me, cause he's a reddit mod but that's ok cause I know deep down he's actually a nice guy…" 🧐 🧐

On another note I liked 'so I'm a spider, so what?' and no I don't consider the title that bad

there's probably an underground competition among authors to see who can fit an entire synopsis into one title.

jokes aside, I think it might be the result of how much the industry of manga / light novel / manhwa industry and the way people consume their content has changed over the years. maybe the market for certain genres have become so saturated, they look to other avenues of making their titles known to the potential readers.

who knows, maybe one of them eventually thought, "how about we sell the premise right away in the title, so that readers will have an easy time deciding whether the story appeals to them". Its right there, no hesitation whether you should invest a tiny amount of time to read the synopsis, because the title clearly communicates what the story is trying to offer.

Perhaps they thought that hesitation, no matter how small, is creating a barrier between a potential reader and the decision to actually read the work. The fewer steps someone has to take before deciding whether they're interested, the better the chances of getting them to click and eventually read.

In other words, its an attempt to turn a potential reader's curiosity into an immediate decision.

I dunno, maybe Im reading too much into this and applying all that behavioral psychology and decisionmaking shit to something as simple as naming a story, lmao. But I suppose its an interesting way to look at the trend, especially when you consider how competitive the business of making a living through storytelling and illustration has become.
