Who is your favorite Nitro+CHiRAL main character?

I like all of them, but if I had to pick my favorites, they'd probably be Youji and Towa. I like Towa because he seems like the kind of person who doesn't worry too much about things. He has a very laid-back and easygoing personality, and I find that really appealing.

Aoba is my favorite. At first, I didn't think I would end up liking him that much, but after finishing the game, I found him so incredibly adorable that I couldn't get enough of him. He made me realize that I really like characters like him.

Love all of them but it has to be Aoba... he's the only one where I came out liking the protagonist more than the capture targets by a long shot; not because they're bad by any means, I just find him so charming and lovely! I have yet to hop into Slow Damage and Clean Dishes though, so subject is open to changing in the future; plus I've been in the mood to do a reread of their whole release catalog anyways, who knows how that could go.

Also, not a protagonist, also, but they sometimes include him in the protagonist merch lines: shout out to Naitou-kun, love that guy, would love to know more about him like we'd gotten to with Sonico (and to a lesser degree, Ouka) in the Nitroplus side of things.

towa used to be my favourite since, slow damage was my first nitro plus chiral game, but since i played all their games i changed with akira...akira is such a cool but at the same time relatable character xDD he still reminds me of towa in a way and mostly bc their personnalities kinda look alike (?) but i really like them all

It's a tie between Akira (first BL, survivalist) and Towa (recent BL, self-destructive). Nitro Chiral creates amazing established protags and engaging worlds, it's hard to choose.
 
Akira is my favourite! With Youji in second. I'm still working on Lamento and haven't started slow damage yet, but I do like Aoba and Konoe a lot. I don't dislike any of the N+C protagonists.

My favourite tweet about Akira was "BL games with protags that don't know they're gay are crazy. Cause like how did 6 different guys in different timelines convince you that you liked guys in this exact stage of your life". I just think he deserves to live a quiet and simple life with whichever boyfriend he manages to keep alive Shiki why are there no happy endings with you

Youji is just suffering suffering suffering the entire time oh my lord I love him so much. One of the worst thing to happen to him is his flesh babies killing his fishes. Can't even keep the small joys in life

He might be one of the most tragic game protags ever. The body horror was so on point. :shockmenft:

Because Sweet Pool holds a special place in my heart, Yoji Sakiyama is my absolute favorite character. His quiet, reserved personality and the way he detaches himself from the world are incredibly captivating to me.

Towa first without a doubt, so complex, accept the love that is given to you, bro :deadsad:. And in retrospective reading some of your comments that triggered my golden fish memorie Akira second, Togainu no Chi wasn't my favorite Nitro+chiral VN but that doesn't mean that the MC was one of the best thing of that game (as I remember it). Youji and Sweet Pool never happen, Miracles May doesn't make me weep every time I hear it. Aoba well wth man, your true route can't be with the dog for the love of... (joking) and I love Lamento but the LI left a bigger impression than Konoe himself.

Same here, literally 100% same!!

All of the MCs are interesting.
I pity Youji the most (poor guy, I was ready to go inside the novel and spoon-feed him, just pls eat something my boy 😭).
I like Konoe's personality.
With Towa, it's hard because, honestly, I hated him for 1/3 of the novel lol but can you actually hate a traumatized character when you learn his whole story? YES but also no, I don't know, no... it's just I'm really uncomfortable with characters who say they want to die, but don't ACTUALLY want to die, so they just put on bravado, ughhh, stop smiling, you poor souls!! Reminds me of Vanitas 💀

Then, there's Aoba. He's literally my spirit animal, my guardian angel and sunshine haha It doesn't matter how disjunctive DMMd's plot is - I will always love my boy Aoba. He brings me smile. He's the first and only figurine I decided to spend my savings on 😭
