Which title has been in your backlog for the longest and why?

I have many games in my backlog D: I think the oldest game in my backlog is Variable barricade for 3 or 4 years, i do the common route and don't remember what i play this VN and delete this. Other games are Code realize (I stucked in the common route chapter 4), TMGS4 (Only do 1 or 2 routes, but i never complete games of TMGS), Amnesia later.

Probably Olympia Soirée.

It's been sitting in my backlog for a while because I keep hearing it's really good but also kind of intense thematically, and I never feel like I'm in the "right mood" for it. So I end up putting it off and picking something lighter instead.

i guess its akazukin to mayoi no mori for me, which is still marinating in my backlog. i started reading it with a friend, and then we just. never continued. and its been two years since T_T busy adult life sucks!!!!!

same with bustafellows. same friend, same reading experience, same two years..... except this time, she actually finished reading it ww!;w; though for this one, im not even sure if i want to continue reading it.. we'll see........

i just have too much stuff i wanna read.. it aint easy being an omnivore!
but, well, just like with drawing, its better to read at least one line a day than not read at all.. which is why i assigned myself a mission to read at least two hours per day this summer!
(ive only been able to read ~3 hours per session lately which is horrendously slow but as long as it helps me move my backlog at least in some way im proud of myself)

Oh... I have tons of title that is in my backlog right now cause I just do not have the time to play or when I have the time to, I am just not in the mood to do so. I thought that I would be able to play whenever I am off work but... whenever the time comes I just ... Sleep for two days Lmao

Probably Steam Prison. A friend roped me into playing different otome games and I kinda forgot about it for a while. 😆 I had been meaning to play it but life got busier so it just stayed in my backlog. It's been 5 or 6 years, I guess

Likely Men of Yoshiwara or Koroshiya to Strawberry lol

For the first one, since it's a historical setting I keep putting it off because I "don't feel like playing it now", the plot doesn't seem as interesting to me as other historical otoges
Koroshiya do Strawberry, I just have high expectations so I'm bound to be disappointed when I play ;b I'll get to it eventually lmao

For me, it's Lover Pretend. I didn't really like Sympathy Kiss, and since it's from the same developer, I'm afraid Lover Pretend will be similar to that game in terms of the MC not having dialogue and the Lis being uninteresting

Overrequiemz for me! I've had it for a while now, i don't know why i never got around to it, maybe because it's on my switch and translating it is a little more difficult...

Piofiore and Amnesia 😅😅 Piofiore has been in my backlog for who knows how many years, and Amnesia is that one game I kept aside for japanese practice (and then never do it lkdgjdsh)

Hakuoki and thats because i actually started playing it on my 3ds some years ago and never finished it and now i would have to replay everything bc i dont remeber a single tjing...

DIABOLIK LOVERS — I've only finished the first one. Honestly, every time the male leads mistreat the heroine, I feel like fighting them on her behalf. But the franchise is super popular, and they've released sequels and remakes — I just haven't played them yet.
The same goes for Hakuoki and Harukanaru Toki no Naka de — both have spawned many sequels, but they've been sitting on my backlog forever

for me it's jack jeanne, i know that a lot of people are saying that the game is a masterpiece and stuff but until now i still can't find anything that makes me interested in jack jeanne after trying to play it for a few hours after i bought the game, i think i'll try to play the game again and see if my opinion about the game has changed or not at all

hmm Ephemeral is good. But you need try urself . But i'm afraid to play Shuuen no Virche. Most intersting route for me is Lukas. But i heard there is no happy ending or good ending for him. And in general the game is depressing.

Mine's definitely Birushana Senki! (‾◡◝) It's been sitting untouched in my backlog for ages. The untranslated raw text is genuinely brutal to get through—there's so much dense Heian-period historical context, plus tons of archaic vocabulary and old honorifics I constantly have to pause and look up. I keep putting it off because I know I'd have to slow my reading pace down to a crawl just to follow the plot properly.🤣

Him, the Smile & Bloom.... I'll play it one day eventually... But I'm too lazy to do it today..
Same, I've played Him, the Smile & Bloom before! The whole game is really calm and low-key, no shocking big plot turns at all. I'm stuck halfway through it too haha, I always get lazy and pick other games instead. :ROFLMAO:

Starting a game is easy, the truly difficuly part is fully completing it.... All of my half completed games....

ive had bustafellows just sitting on my desktop collecting nonexistent dust for like the past 2 years...
got it on sale and was interested in it, started playing it and i think it bored me or it didnt get interesting enough quick enough so i just havent went back to it yet

BLACK/MATRIX is a very old game. Back when I couldn't get my hands on an otome game, I enjoyed it by filling in the gaps in the world with my imagination. However, there was one BL ending in the otherwise heterosexual game, and I hesitated to pursue it, so it was left untouched for a long time. Later, after I grew to like BL, I was finally able to complete the entire game.

i bought both radiant tale and the fandisk more than a year ago and i barely played 15 minutes of the first one. idk why, it just didn't ignite the spark in me to actively play it like a madman as i do with the others i get hooked on.

i'm not that demanding for games at all, i just need some uhhhhh...courage? to get on with it

Bad Apple Wars, Blooming Panic, Binary Star Hero, and the Diabolik Lovers fan game (Diabolik Lovers Moonfall), the reason is the same for all of them: whenever I'm about to start playing one of them, another game catches my eye and seems more interesting, so I end up leaving them to "gather dust" on my list of otome games to play...

Collar×Malice, Cafe Enchante, Bustafellows and the list goes on.. the backlog is huge.

In Collar×Malice's case, it was the first VN i got and i haven't even gotten past the prologue to this day T_T
saying, I am saving it for later cause i have such high expectations of it
