Which title has been in your backlog for the longest and why?

Paradigm Paradox, I think it's been on my to-play list for quite a while. I've had it since I finished Charade Maniacs, and I've been putting it off ever since. Virche almost falls into that category, but I'm mentally preparing myself to start it; maybe when I finish Cupid Parasite (which I'm currently playing), I'll start Virche later, but I still don't feel like starting Paradigm.

In my to-do list, there are two reasons. The game stays the longest, and one is because I really have high expectations for it and love it very much! Reluctant to play, always waiting for an opportunity to play (such as environment, time, etc.). One reason is that I don't really like this game, but I will still play it in the future. Add it to the to-do list first to prevent forgetting, and then play it later!

Piofiore Fated Memories This game has been on my to-do list for the longest time. When the first installment was released, I originally wanted to play it, but later the official announced that there would be an FD sequel, so I wanted to wait for the second installment to come out before playing it again. Now that the second installment is out, I want to find a suitable opportunity to play it together, so this game has been on my to-do list for the longest time. It is also my favorite and most anticipated game

I liked Ephemeral. Sure I wouldn't call it a masterpiece, but it still was a fun little game.
For me it's probably Code Realize because of the long common route and Taishou x Alice because I heard mixed reviews and no one really caught my eye at first glance.

That would be Taishou x Alice. I had eyes for it when it was coming out ten years ago, and it's still on the "to read" list. I heard many good things about this game, but don't know, there were no sign to actually read it? Maybe in ten years it still will be in the backlog

There's also Taisho Mebiusline from roughly the same time, so maybe I'm just bad with games having the word "Taisho" in their title :ROFLMAO:

that's good to hear! I'm sure I'll get to Ephemeral one day :D

Taishou x Alice is an interesting case. I think the localization is very hit or miss.

Taishou x Alice both the main game and the fandisc i got spoiled before I had the chance to play it so im kind of just sitting on it. Ill play it at some point I think ╮ (. ❛ ᴗ ❛.) ╭

Hakuoki in my case.
I have like 3 copies of it not realizing it was actually the same game on different platforms. Got it even before I knew what an otome is. Tried playing it several times but for some reason I drop it each time.
Maybe because it's historical. I'm not sure.

It might be *Kamigami no Asobi* or *Meiji Tokyo Renka*.
I watched the anime when it first aired and thought it was fun, so I've been meaning to play the game someday, but I still haven't gotten around to it.
The more I look forward to a game, the more I end up treating it like a treasure and putting it off.

Birushana. I'm so hyped to play that otome game, but it's like I want to find "the moment" because I feel that I'm going to enjoy it a lot 🤣

hakuoki. i finished, maybe, at most, three routes and i disliked each one immensely. (ノωヽ)
it's always raved about so i always think about giving it another shot, maybe i was too immature to enjoy it before but...the memory of the game gives me no enticement to continue. _(:3 」∠ )_

i have a few that are my rainy day or traveling ones that i don't want to touch because they would be great to play then, if that makes sense? (ˊ•͈ ◡ •͈ˋ) there's a selection that i have such high expecations of and i want everything to be p-e-r-f-e-c-t to enjoy playing to its fullest level which leads me to putting them off more and more until i can get in the locked-in mindset to dedicate to the story. (っ´ω`)ノ(╥ω╥)

I have such a huge backlog but if I to say one game then I think it would have to be Jack Jeanne. I know the game is loved by many and its rating is pretty high, but I just don't think I'm ready to commit to such a long game yet. There's also the stat raising and rhythm game components to it, and I tend to like my otome games without them (unless they're really fun and not too repetitive). I know I will get to it one day because I love a game with a good story. When I do get to it, I'll probably play other games in between to avoid burning out.

There are plenty of them. "NORN9","Tokimeki Memoria GS4" ,"BUSTAFELLOWS" etc...
There are some games I got bored of halfway through, but for the most part, I haven't been able to play them because I haven't had the time, or I haven't felt up to playing them and so haven't even started them.

Clock zero, for like 10 years? It is lengthy and slow paced game with lots of talking. I got distracted to play the other games cause I think at that time I preferred comedy or action story plot type. Also my Japanese wasn't great back then which slow my reading.

I'm trying to finish it this month. 10 years is too long. 😂
