Which otome game was your first impression of the otome game genre?

I think it was Yo-Jin-Bo. Do not remember how I stumbled on it, but understanding all the jokes was harder then, lol. Lot's of LIs, not the most comfortable interface and a couple of songs I listen to this days.) And "I can fix him" trope still loved, thou not the most.

For me... it was probably RE: Alistair >< I remember I came across that by chance and it was all downhill from there!! I actually started with a lot of indie english otome games (like (P)lanets) before coming across Hakuouki and/or Second Reproduction!!
So cool! RE:Alistair was my first game too. After that I played (P)lanets and Second Reproduction too. And even My candy love when it still was with male LIs only

The first game that really made me think, "Ah, so this is an otome game," was definitely AMNESIA. It was a good game even for Japanese beginners, and the story progression was quite shocking, so I remember playing it all night long😆

My first otome was Starry Sky ~In Spring~. I was already a fan of VNs, and playing one I was more the target audience for felt like a really exciting experience! Once I started to learn Japanese, the rest of the series became some of the first games I practiced with. So I have a soft spot for the series. I'd like to go and replay some of my favorite routes again sometime.

Yo-Jin-Bo ~ The Bodyguards
and for a while i tought all otome games had a timer when choosing because its been what ive been playing repeatedly back during dial-up days. I used to call it , romantic Goosebumps pc game.

My first otome game was *Tokimeki Memorial Girl's Side*.
It remains my favorite game to this day.

It was patchesis games and realistair++. I am really obsessed with it, that i even take notes of everything.

I technically found out about otome through Yandere Sim 😭

Back when Michaela Laws was still voicing for the game, she also created "Seduce Me", which I tried out. Honestly when I tried replaying the game a couple years ago, I can't imagine giving it above 2/5 score lol, but fortunately I was pretty young and impressionable when I first played it, so it made me interested in other otome as well (though I was in denial for a long time)

My first game was Hakuoki, I'm pretty sure I was fresh out of playing Persona 3 Portable and was craving more romance to play so I went searching for ones on the psp because that was the most accessible device I had at the time. I've been hooked ever since 😆

Mystic messenger was technically my first otome but honestly the timegating pissed me off. My first "real" otome is Piofiore. My first time playing I got Nicola's bad ending and that left a really strong impression on me LOL I didnt know dating sims could get so dark. I was expecting some cringy wattpad esque mafia boss stuff but what I got was a lot better
