When did you start playing otome games?

When I played my first Bioware game, the romance was my favorite part so I looked for romance games and found *otome games*.

When I was in middle school. I was already a big fan of x reader fanfics so when I discovered the flash dating sims by Pacthesis on Deviantart it was the dam bursting. XD

I think I started around 2013/2014…? I was young so I have played otome games for most of my life now!

I first started when I was around 12 or so? This was around 2010 which feels like a lifetime ago haha

I think 12 or 13 when I played a couple of the shall we date games and ended up finding more otome I could play on my ds.

Don't remember exactly when, since bl was my intro to drama cd in elementary school and gal game was my intro to vn right after. Finding otome was refreshing. I remember wanting to have more sleep modes because I have trouble finding peace in life. Opps. Now, otome is much more accessible, guess this exposes generation.

WhenI was in middle school with old pc, the art of old otome game (not japan) was hella hell

I started when I was 18. What began as curiosity has continued to this day.

First otome game i played when i was 8 or 9 years old ( it was in Japanese language but i got an idea of what is it)
But officially i started around 2015

when i was 10 year old! my first otome was my lovely cat or my candy love, i don't remember it clearly...

Either in late elementary school or early middle school? Early enough that it's hard to remember exactly when, at least. I'd download and try out basically every mobile otome game on the app store back then, though I usually didn't have the patience for the F2P time-gated ones and only ever finished the couple of Voltage game routes I could buy with birthday or holiday money. (The one I specifically remember was Mitsuru Sanada's route from First Love Diaries, all the rest have totally blanked from my memory...) Later on in middle school I moved on to PC/Console otome games though. In any case it's been over a decade at this point.

Around the age of 12, I was exposed to mostly BL (Boys' Love) fanfiction. While searching for other types of works, I stumbled upon otome (female-oriented) fan games created by other netizens.

I started playing around 15. My first otome game was Tokimeki Memorial, but since my native language is not English, it was difficult. They actually helped me improve my English skills lol

i started at abt 9 years old, if you consider watching playthroughs of voltage games AHAHAH i had no money for a long time before i actually got to buying otoges but i'd watch a LOT of them

Oh gosh I was probably about 11 or 12 years old when I first started playing otome games or at least watching YT vids of people playing them.

I started playing at 16 or maybe 17 in high school but it was like "skipping dialogues and text to see CGs". To really read and translate games - it was later, maybe somewhere in my twenties, when I found tools that helps with extracting text from games. And started to live alone and no one would bother me lol

liked watching anime from childhood and then when i was 11 i found an anime starry sky then found out there is a game so i downloaded and played the spring one!
