When a new fd has released do you go play fd first or replay the first game again

Generally, once a fan disc is released, I play through the series in order, starting with the original game and then moving on to the fan disc.

Replay the first game, but if I get too impatient I'll just look up some route summary and spoilers to refresh my memory then play the FD.

Maybe if I don't remember the plot or the game is plot-heavy, but generally I just jump right in the fd

I just play the fandisc directly if I still remember the main content of the original game.

too lazy to replay the first game, especially if it's really long. but i think it also depends on how much time has passed since my first playthrough... like if it was five or more years ago then of course i need to refresh my memory a bit

I usually play the FD while the story is still fresh in my mind.
If I've already forgotten the story of the original, I might not even bother playing the FD in the first place.

If it's been a really long time since I last played the main game and the story has already become pretty hazy in my mind, I'll replay it with the feeling of experiencing it all over again for the first time.
But if the game left a deep and intense impression on me,
I'll be too impatient to wait and will jump straight into the FD.
And when the FD turns out to be just as amazing as the main game, after finishing the FD,
I'll end up going back and replaying the main game again to relive the story.

I play the FD immediately, because as soon as I finish an otome game I replay it a lot while waiting for FD
