What's your opinion on Merry Bad End?

I'm a fan of them! In an otome game, I don't necessarily need every route to end with the protagonist and her love interest living happily ever after. If the ending makes sense for the characters and feels meaningful to their relationship, I'm totally fine with it being a little messed up or bittersweet.

I love them!!

I think it lets the author be more creative than a pure happy ending. I love reading something where I don't know what will happen next!

I love merry bad ends too! They tend to stick with me more than straightforward happy endings. There are plenty of things that make me go "hmm" in real life, but that I end up loving when they happen in fiction. There's just something about twisted relationships and situations that really gets to me.

Sometimes I love a merry bad ending, especially if it's written really well and not out of character at all.

I probably prefer happy endings more, but if they're too predictable or generic, a merry bad ending always succeeds in making me thrilled. Any twisted ending is always welcome lol!

Another person who loves them too! Merry bad ends are so fun and its so interesting to see how the writers twist things in the end. I also prefer it to bad ends because of that piece of hope or mangled happiness that is happiness in a way. The more twisted up and chaotic, the more fun!
 
I'd love to see more of them! Any ending where the characters end up together, but the outcome isn't necessarily happy, is super interesting to me. I remember Cendrillon palikA having some amazing endings like this that really etched themselves into my memory. 😋

I've seen too many fairy tales with happy endings; I like a little variation to add excitement.

For example, the male and female protagonists live in their own world, detached from the outside world, mutually dependent, a sickly couple (who work together to destroy the world and become saviors again).

They might even refuse to face reality, wallowing in dreams or a spiritual world.

i totally get it!! bittersweet is sometimes just hits different :3

yesss! it's like they're in their own world i love it so much XD
 
I still prefer a good ending for most normal characters. There are also some routes for villainous dangerous characters, and I can accept happy bad endings. As long as it fits the story setting of the characters themselves and the ending is written reasonably, I will really like it.（By the way, some dangerous villain characters are really charming, even if the ending is bad, the process is really exciting!:love:）

I like merry bad endings too, but they also scare me a little because it feels like everything could fall apart so easily over the smallest thing.
