What trope would you defend even if everyone says it’s overused?

Definitely enemies to lovers. I know it's a trope that gets used a lot, but I love when the characters start off hating each other and slowly begin to change their feelings, even without realizing it or while trying to deny them. I love watching that whole process until they finally realize they've fallen in love.

Another trope I really love is when the heroine turns out to be much more important than she initially seemed. I like when she starts off not knowing much about the story, and little by little you discover her connection to everything that's happening, leading to a big plot twist. For example, finding out that she has a connection to the villain, the characters' past, or that she was somehow destined to meet them from the beginning. I know it can be really cliché, but give me that kind of plot twist and I'll probably fall for it every time lol. ​

I probably love childhood friends because sometimes their characters change a little bit from when they were young. It's really interesting to see the LI conflicted over whether to stay as childhood friends or become lovers, and whether he's worthy. Especially if the LI is much older than MC, he need to play this perfect big brother every time.

As for the yanderes, please don't save me, I'm in the exact place I intend to be lmao. Give me a confinement and an obsessed LI who is a walking red flag! I'll pretend I'm colorblind and defend them like my life is on the line lol

With childhood friends, I love watching their relationship slowly shift from friendship to something more.
Tsunderes who blush and say things like "It's not like I like you or anything," but then still end up secretly caring about the MC — it's just so cute.

Airheads have this laid-back vibe that feels really relaxing, and they sometimes say things that are totally out of place, which is just hilarious. They also carry this carefree, spontaneous energy that I really enjoy.

The whole process of those subtle, knife-edge confrontations and the tension simmering beneath the surface would be amazing to watch.

Here are some setups I'd love to see：
1. The heroine is an assassin, and the LI is the bodyguard of the person she's trying to assassinate.
Their relationship is basically a constant cycle of trying to outmaneuver, sabotage,
and test each other in battle.
I'm really into that sort of fiery relationship.

2. The heroine is a double agent.
The constant suspicion and paranoia, with that psychological-thriller vibe, would be incredibly thrilling.

3. The story is set around workplace power struggles,
with the heroine and the LIs constantly competing and clashing with each other,
while she also has to navigate the complex conflicts and dynamics among her colleagues, superiors,
and those in senior positions.
