What pulls you first when getting into an otome game/BL?

I'm honestly obsessed with collecting CG in games. There's something about it being so niche that I really like (at least where I'm at lol). And if I come across a game that I'm really into, I'll go out of my way to find all the content for it — yeah, it can be time-consuming and a pain sometimes, but I genuinely enjoy the whole process.

the art and design of the characters and also the setting of the story and the atmosphere that's what pulls me and keeps me in

While there are many titles that catch my eye simply due to their world-building or story, the presence of my favorite voice actors or Production company plays a major role in my decision to actually buy them.
In very rare cases, however, I have purchased a game simply because I liked the character designs and was drawn to the artwork.

Definitely visuals! It's really important as I love to gush over art!!! And it's also way more motivating to play when they're pretty‼️

I'd say its like 80% art and 20% plot? I also have this weird tendency that would make me less interested in an otome game if I don't find the Mc's design attractive/appealing LOL

The visuals are usually what catch my eye first, but whether I keep playing really depends on the story. If it feels too slow or doesn't keep me interested, I tend to lose motivation.

For me, it's a mixture of the premise and the art of a game. If the premise doesn't interest me, no good art can make me interested again. If I don't like the character designs, I don't care about the romance with the LIs, and since that's very important for this type of game, I lose a lot of the interest and probably don't even look at the premise. That's why it takes both to really interest me in a game

I almost always rely on visuals these days - character designs, art style, whatever else they use to market the game because I don't look at the premise anymore because I want to know as little as possible when I get into it and this applies to other stuff outside of otome/bl as well!

the visual of the LI and heroine, and of course the storyline, for mobile otome game tho i'd play it also to collect the card illustration and more interactive experience like texting, calling, collecting pretty clothes, etc. the storyline and art/illustration for mobile otome also quite good especially ikemen series, shall we date series and my recent fav light and night! for BL im not playing it bcause im not interested, YET

I am definitely the type who prefers the visual over all and character designs. These two are selling points for me

FEEEEEMBOYS!!!
I try looking at every single otomege accessible/comfortable to me to play, but Femboys/Bishounens LIs are an immediately eye catch to me lol
I need to have sporadically my dose of 2d feminine looking mans to survive so if I end being that thirsty of it I may consider to play a game with beautiful bishounens even if it doesn't seem promissory by the cast of director and writers
