What pulls you first when getting into an otome game/BL?

Art style is what draws me to a game first.
For me, even if a game has a great story, I'll get bored quickly if the art isn't my taste. However, sometimes it works the other way around too! (✪ω✪)/

It's fun how the dynamics and emotional tone of a relationship can change depending on the choices you make, even with the same character. I also enjoy the process of gradually uncovering new aspects of the world and the characters as I play through different routes.

I will read other's review on the writing/story quality first , Artstyle is the part I paid least attention to.

The story, the visuals. If it has mystery (or horror), I'm already sold. I also love it when one of the LIs is the MC's childhood friend or best friend, because I'm basic like that lol.

Honestly ? the visuals and the seiyuu
even when the guys is not actually my type story wise if they're handsome and voiced by my fav seiyuu, i will play the game...

If the male characters' visuals and voices aren't appealing, I can't enjoy the game and won't feel like continuing to play. Of course, the story and world are important too. I don't pay attention to reviews; I choose based on my own preferences.

I know people who are solely dedicated to their favourite seiyuus and would just try anything that they're in.
And I know people who are immediately sold just by the visuals.

For me, it really depends... But I'm often hooked by either the premise or if it's from a developer/publisher that I trust.
I am the kind of person that is solely sold by the visuals. The plot is terrible? Yeah who cares the men look like a dream in my eyes if the art is a 10/10, haha!

Illustrations pull me into a game and keep me interested! Character illustrations are of course important but I really value background art because I LOVE seeing all the details in the environment that really put me into the world that the MC is in. If the illustrations are not my cup of tea, I can still deal and manage if the story is engaging enough!

首先吸引我的是網路上對它故事情節的推薦。

(所以,在線上分享和討論真的非常重要。)
第二點是藝術風格。

但只要故事有趣,即使畫面不是很好我也能接受。

First, I look at the art style.

That's because it needs to be beautiful to catch my eye.

Second is the story!

No matter how pretty the art is, if the story isn't good, I don't feel like playing it.

The art, the premise, and then the writers and company. I will sometimes skip a game if I don't like the art which is a shame.

The MC must be entertaining or at least bearable, and if the MC is a complete blank slate the plot must be interesting. I don't care about VAs, and the art/sprites and OST are just a plus. The same as a book really.

I think the first thing that attracts me after entering the game is the plot, followed by the style and personality of the male protagonist.

If all of the above are met, I will complete it all.

Sometimes, if I'm not very interested in a game, I usually play a single line or even not play at all.

For me, it's 100% the plot. I'm not a fan of stories that focus only on the romance and everything else is just a background to it. My favorites are always a mix of multiple genres, just like "Togainu no Chi" - BL visual novel about a guy who's falsely accused of a crime and is offered a trip to Toshima, where he must kill the strongest player of Igra to avoid being sentenced. It literally has everything I need: a lot of action, dystopia, psychological horror and the darker kind of romance. Moreover, for me, Akira is one of the most relatable visual novel protagonists among those I've played. I really enjoy edgier and more twisted main characters, both male and female, but it isn't a neccessity as well as it isn't a guarantee of success for me.

I liked this game so much that it made me buy other Nitro+CHiRAL works, but I still haven't had time to play them. This could be considered choosing games based on a producer I like, but if a game doesn't grab me with its plot, I just won't pick it up. There has to be some "spark" besides that lol.

I always check the art style first! Visuals are the most important for a first impression. If the art captures my attention, I'll immediately look into the character descriptions and plot introduction. If the characters have personality traits that strike a chord with me (such as tsundere or contrasting personalities) and the storyline is captivating, I'm instantly hooked! 😂 Art style is the storefront, while characters and plot are the core. A true masterpiece requires all three!

Well the first thing I'm looking for is definitely visuals so if I see a guy I find attractive I'll most likely try out the game, but plot/setting also plays a big role!

At first, what drew me in was the art style that whets the appetite, but later it was the gripping storyline.
