What physical character design traits make you love an LI before you even know them?

At first glance, I tend to be drawn to characters who wear glasses, have narrow eyes, and seem to harbor some inner shadows.
Often, I continue to like them even as the story progresses.
I also love it when a character looks slender in a suit but turns out to be muscular underneath!
Conversely, even if a character's appearance doesn't initially appeal to me, I might grow to like them if the story reveals a fascinatingly intense or wild side to their personality.

I've read everyone's comments, and it makes me happy to see so many people who love the "black hair and glasses" look!

these traits usually fall into certain tropes that i enjoy immensely so they wind up being my favorites overall.

Having long hair…or looking like the cheerful ganki character or in the opposite A TSUNDERE…but in general what makes me love a li before i EVEN play the game is their seiyuus…im so into voices that just hearing a pleasant voice can make me go for a character more than another…even if they aren't my usual type of character- i remember before i started 9rip i wasnt even into the game- but then i listened to those trailers and i heard hibiki's voice and noticed it was toki shunichi and ran to DIRECTLY buy the game and play his route…( because toki shunichi is my favourite character…) but in general it really depends alot sometimes i'm into the tsundere look character another time into the kind of childish character ( yukimaro i love u )

I personally prefer silver-haired characters, or ones that are a bit crazy. My favorite are those carefree characters who also have a knightly vibe. But in games, I usually go after whoever I meet first and don't change the order based on my preferences. Even though I really like him, he shows up way too late!

Whenever I come across a long-haired character, I simply can't help but check the official website. Long hair cascading over the shoulders, a tall stature, and a lean, muscular build—a character possessing all these traits instantly captures my heart. Ultimately, by the time I finish playing the game, that character almost always ends up being my absolute favorite.

The storyline is the most important thing. Even if the appearance matches my needs, a selfish, awful, unreasonable, and violent character is unlikely to make the game complete.

I'm usually drawn to characters who have a playful or slightly rebellious vibe. Things like piercings, a mischievous smile, or an expression that makes them look like they enjoy teasing people immediately catch my attention.

There's also an extra charm if they come with a natural gentle expression (like Yves, Mathis and Lucas... Virche cast is so perfect).

Aside from it, I also pursue games with a colorful haired cast. No (very) specific colors, just need to be an non natural hair ones.
To my it gives an extra lair of fantasy that I crave

Characters drawn with sharp/mature features and gives off a cold vibe. For example in Cupid Parasite, I instantly wanted to play Shelby's route due to his character design and the same goes for Natsuhiko in Norn9. I like the chaotic vibe characters too cause I was super interested in Yori from Uchronia on first look. Also a big fan of contrasting features like red eyes with silver or black hair

Full agree on this!! This is why I am also so so excited for Cronoll's route in Crazy chain!!

In terms of other traits, I also really like any long hair LIs or maybe those who are also very feminine as well >3< I'm also quite a fan of those LIs who look super arrogant or the oresama types

tbh when i read the question, i started to ponder what is my fav type of looks of LIs.. and i came to realised,it actually changed from time to time. I used to love flashy golden haired prince type (lmao) thats why Matheus from beast master and prince used to be the template of my fav LIs, then it shifted into silver/white haired one. But lately, i keep fell in love with long haired LIs.

Long hair always gets me, or some accessory that covers one or both eyes. Scars too! Or dark skin. Or femme boys with smirks?! I'm all over the place but I have specific examples in mind.
