What otome genre you most enjoy?

I like mystery and deduction stories,
especially ones with a social deduction game vibe, like Werewolf.
The kind of setup where everyone is suspicious of each other really gets my heart racing.
I'm also pretty interested in music-themed stories,
and it'd be even better if they focus on indie musicians.
And I really enjoy more serious, hard sci-fi too —
like well-thought-out parallel worlds and time travel with solid rules.
 
Fantasy, historical, and mystery. My all-time favorites are Ken ga Kimi, Black Wolves Saga, Shuuen no Virche, Bustafellows, and Over RequiemZ which describe my tastes perfectly LOL.
 
I love me some mysteries and any sort of speculative fiction (fantasy, sci-fi) worlds for plot heavy otome like Taisho x Alice and Bustafellows. But I also appreciate some slice of life genres once in a while as a breather in between games!
 
I play otome games across a wide range of genres—though horror is an absolute no-go for me (haha)—but for me, fantasy titles remain the starting point and the pinnacle of the genre.
I am simply captivated by worlds featuring magic or special "powers of destiny"! Just knowing that the protagonist or the love interests harbor such powers instantly draws me into that world and makes my heart race with excitement.
 
I don't really have any particular genre preferences, but if I had to pick the one that appeals to me the least, it'd probably be slice of life. And I mean specifically the kind that takes place in the real world with no fantasy elements whatsoever. Other than that, as long as the story is well-written, I'm game for pretty much anything.
 
I do like both isekai and supernatural elements in my stories, but I tend to gravitate towards anything that leans towards darker story elements, however that might be portrayed - any dark fiction, horror, psychological elements, yandare, lots of bad endings, etc.
 
I think I have a soft spot for darker otome and mystery/thriller ones! I love morally questionable characters, tragic stories and darker atmospheres 😂

I also really enjoy games where there's a big mystery that slowly gets revealed throughout the different routes. Those always keep me hooked because I NEED to know what's actually going on!

Those kinds of mysteries definitely hook me, too. Where you learn a little more with every route you complete, or even that you discover different sides of the same story that make you realize that the truth you learned before doesn't have all the context, and you see how unreliable the narrator is. Like each route is a thread, and following one color from start to finish is fine and complete, but you need to collect all of them if you're going to put together the braid.

I've also seen it where - and this is equally rare but in a different way - each route is a completely different mystery. While I love the above the most, sometimes having a totally separate story line can be good too, because you have no idea, no context, and no preconception. It's like getting, I dunno, 3 or 4 books for the price of one.

My fav genres are fantasy, historical, and supernatural; I never get tired of them. Slice of life games are also good. But for me, a well-written story is more important than genre, so I'll read any of them
 
I do love me a good mystery, it's a great way for the MC and the LI to grow close. But I also enjoy the complete opposite, a nice slice of life with no stakes makes for a great pallete cleanser.
 
I love Viche Evermore and Olympia the most. In my opinion, I love good story with a setting that match the vibes. Of course, I am searching every single details in the background so I love Viche Evermore change the background scene based on the event so its not just same image. Rather than romance, I love good plot and unique settings.
 
I love historical otome games too! I really like Chou no Doku Hana no Kusari, Harukanaru Toki no Naka de, and Sangoku Rensenki! haha. And I absolutely LOVE the Tokimeki Memorial Girl's Side series. I adore every single installment!!
 
If I had to pick a favorite, I'd say fantasy - doesn't matter if it's high fantasy or low fantasy. I'm a big fan of fantasy media in general, it's no different for otome
