I haven't played many yuri games. Maybe you could recommend some games with good writing? If they are made by female creators or female writers, that would be even better. Thank youヽ(^^)ノ

There's not much yuri games to begin with so I am less judgemental when it comes to them tbh.

If you're interested ebihime's games must be on sale right now for both itch and steam I think. They have a lot of games but they're fairly short. From what I played so far the quality doesn't differ much from game to game so I think you would be fine with any of them.

For Japanese games Akai ito and Aoishiro are fairly fine. They're the first ones to get recommended I think. But they're both written by a man and the English translation has some issues. There's also Flowers series which I think is also fine but I haven't finished so looking for other opinions might be better. Both flowers and Akaiito/Aoishiro are longer games

Love Curse was pretty popular thus summer. People praised it a lot and I think it's made by women. If you haven't played yet I think it's your best call. I just saw a Chinese game called Argent Cacoon get announced today too, I'll be keeping an eye on it (≧▽≦)

hey hey! yuri is good!!!

unfortunately though im not exactly experienced with yurige yet, as i prefer to read yuri manga. still though!

if you are fine with r18, cutesy stuff and moe shit (saying this lovingly), i strongly advise you to check out the sono hanabira series. this is a doujin series of basically cute girls being in love, and its very very cute and fluffy and easily digestable!
other moe stuff is natsukon's. their stuff is mostly cute and fluffy, which is a perfect choice for those who like cute girls:D
sukerasono (dramacd)/sukerasparo (all-ages visual novels)/sukerasomero (r18 visual novels) is another yuri-centered circle with pretty cute (and sometimes spicy) works! their liptrip was even illustrated by a prominent yuri mangaka, minori chihusa! she also has another work in development, watamari 2, which is a sequel to watamari. both are pretty short and all-ages!
as scorpies mentioned, flowers is a highly-rated multiple title yurige with some pretty aesthetics:)
if you are craving darker yuri, definitely check out manakashi no yuri wa akaku somaru and sadistic blood! both are basically staples in the "toxic yuri" genre. be warned though, both contain sex scenes with men!!!!! especially sadistic blood, but well, thats black cyc for you..!
this is a controversial recommendation, and i personally didnt like it at all, but if you crave for more toxic yuri, feel free to check out sutekano. the story is a bit all over the place, but at least the first part is somewhat enjoyable! and bad ends, if you yearn for r18. brace yourself for some cringe writing and writers who dont know about female anatomy though..!
theres also been an announcement of a new title called argent cocoon. looks very very pretty, so keep an eye on it!
and, speaking of titles with older characters, eclipse: special forces is a visual novel which features butch lesbians!
im pretty sure the bundle sale is already over unfortunately, but humble bundle's yuri in luck contains some great choices! namely seabed, which is one of the most beloved yuri visual novels ever, and blackberry honey by a popular western author ebi-hime. speaking of which, you definitely should check her works out as well! she writes tons of yuri, but she also has bl (mostly r18), galge, even some otome (but there are only a couple of them)!

Gacha and yuri talk:

Just realized you were asking our favorite games (ب_ب). Perhaps my favorite yuri game is honkai impact 3, it took a big part of my life. I'm not even sure to recommend it tbh lol. It's good if you casually play the story I guess. But it really is a yuri game, with a lot of canon couples and romance focus

I played most of path to nowhere's story too but ptn isn't exactly a yuri isn't it? It just has a mostly female player base and female characters. But it's really good to just enjoy it as a story, the rest is pretty dull anyway, gameplay and all.

A lot of gacha games have parts that could be considered yuri adjacent actually. D4DJ has a canon yuri couple too but it's not a yuri game and it doesn't even have a major female player base. But I think it's still worth mentioning bc you can't deny the said couple, like it's canon canon lol.

All this text just to say my fav is hi3... Hi3 has comics too, if you're interested I recommend trying them first

oh true true! ptn is a great gacha overall, and it is indeed very yuri-esque! this might be the only gacha game ever which pays equal attention to both protagonists, and the only gacha game period whose female protagonist is way more popular than the male protagonist. after all, it isnt known for being a "lesbian gacha" for no reason!

another yuri-adjacent gacha is reverse1999. it has exquisite aesthetics and a good relationships between women, but their latest choices are very questionable.. nonetheless the story is very good so it is worth checking out!

the most popular yuri gacha we have currently though is heaven burns red. there are girls flirting with girls all over the place, basically no men in the story, and the main character herself is a huge girl lover!!:D not to mention its written by maeda jun aka key's main writer. it is a very good game with a great story!!!!!!!!

i saw the post for this too ! and the artstyle was so very gorgeous i immediately followed the creator's page

my personal experience with yuri vns ive read is also limited to love curse and ebihime's works so those are the only ones i can really recommend sadly but i have heard relatively good things about kimihane and that it's slice of life focused so i do plan to play it soon as well !! similarly i heard about usonatsu since it got a switch port recently and i want to try that one out as well ^^ i guess theyre the ones higher on my backlog

flowers was mentioned above so i'll mention kudan no folklore as something to try out too since it's by the same writer as flowers ^^ i have it in my backlog as well and i think most of the reviews i read found it decent

My favorites would be Akai Ito and Aoi Shiro. Those games take place in the same universe and share a few characters. I love the supernatural elements and and most of the cast are badass, even if they don't look particularly strong. But both games are very long and have many endings, so it could turn into the completionist nightmare.

Both games received Steam ports a few years ago, but they're not very good. The translating reeks of human edited MTL but the editors weren't English speakers. So I recommend sticking with fan tl for Aoi Shiro and installing translation patch for Akai Ito into the Steam release.

So many recommendations, that's awesome! I have some homework to do since I don't think I've played a yuri game (Love Curse and Eclipse are on my wishlist, but I haven't gotten them yet) and I wanna expand my horizons, so it was a good idea to snoop around this thread ww

And thank you for mentioning the Yuri in Luck bundle because it's still ongoing and I was able to get it! :D There are 6 days left to grab the bundle if anyone else here wants it.

oh awesome news!! i got it on day one and i wasnt able to keep track on whether its still available, because my country is blocked by the site and im too lazy to boot up vpn every time LOL. i heard some people talk like it already ended though, so i wasnt sure! anyway heavily recommended to get it to anyone who has spare money. 11 whole games for just 13 bucks with some great titles like seabed or oshirabu or fatal twelve is an insane deal!

Oh wow, so many recommendations! I can't wait to add some of them to my collection.:giggle:

I haven't really seen anyone talk about Raining City: Millions Recollections. It's currently in my backlog, but I played a bit of the demo and was super intrigued. It's definitely on the darker side though, so I'm not sure how the romances will play out. There aren't any spicy scenes, though.

The same company also made another game called The Chrono Jotter. It's dark as well and only has one main couple, but it really caught my interest since I love detective games. In that one, you have to solve a series of murders.

Much as I want to say Strawberry Panic: Girl School in Full Bloom, it's stuck on PS2. Unlike the drama-filled anime equivalent, it's just plain idyll girl school life.
