I'm curious about what made everyone start listening to Otome drama CDs!

For me, it all started with listening to ASMR on YouTube, and I randomly stumbled upon a teaser clip for a Drama CD. I was hooked right away and have been listening ever since! 💗

Was it a voice actor you like, a game you played, or something else that got you interested?

I had a phase where I was obsessed with a character and his voice actor, so I went and looked at his other works and otome drama cds were some of the things he did! I think this was around the time I was also getting into Japanese otome games, so it was perfect for me

Me and my friends were ironically listening to english boyfriend ASMR as a sleepover activity because we thought it was funny as hell 😂 But then i had a thought... what if it was in japanese? Started listening to clips on youtube by myself which is where i stumbled onto otome drama cds... then i transitioned to soundcloud (man, those were the times 🥲) and now here i am unironically listening to and enjoying these cds 😂

I used to listen to ASMR videos on YouTube too =)) Then I came across some drama CDs along the way, but it's only recently that I've actively started learning about them and finding the right websites to listen to :Ddd

Back then, a lot of drama CDs were uploaded to youtube and soundcloud lol. I think because my playlist contained a lot of BL or otome anime, youtube recommended the drama CD section to me by accident. I listen to all of them without fail lol

Though they're quite secretive with their titles (to avoid copyright), so sometimes I need to search the cover image to know the title.

There was a time when I watched the anime adaptation of Diabolik Lovers and became obsessed with crazy, unhinged "yandere" characters. After that, I went down a rabbit hole and discovered a whole new world of otome games and otome drama CDs

But since I got into all of this through an anime where all the male leads were absolute assholes, I guess it's only natural that my taste in drama CDs has now become exclusively about assholes too lmao.

I was randomly scrolling through the net many years ago, learned that drama cds are a thing, gave it a try and realized "yeah, that's the stuff"

It was after getting into otome-centric media that drama & situational CDs are kind of a natural extension to it 😄 Honeybee's Starry Sky Seiza Kareshi, Seiza Danna series - yeah it might have been Honeybee 😆

I got into it because I joined a group that uploaded otome drama CDs, and then I started looking for more stuff online

I think I started out from listening to game's tokutens that came with translations.
Some of them were really hilarious and had ship fodder content for my shipping pleasures.
It was during that period where I spent a good deal of money collecting game series tokuten and buying parcels and parcels that cost me several hundreds :x

Eventually I discovered situation CDs too, and some (not all) of them had real cute heroine and hero dynamics too.
I also really like CDs where heroines are voiced too, but it's not common in all ages otome drama CDs (I mainly hear them in shoujo or josei manga/novel-related CDs).

I first fell in love with Sawa Manaka's voice through a game. Then I learned that he'd done a lot of drama CDs, and I just got more and more hooked
