I am a pureblood 2D appreciator. Yes, 3D characters are modeled in engines that make it much easier (and cheaper) to animate their movements, but to me they're missing the human touch. While I would love to see more animated characters, I'm not willing to sacrifice the 2D aesthetic. The whole 2D design seems as an expression of the character, it's more vivid to me, even when it's still. 3D feels too robotic—it's like it's trying to make fantasy real but stops somewhere halfway, leaving the result unsatisfying.
