What do you think about these ai chat bots?Could they replace otome games?

At first, AI chatbot based on the character you like feels interesting. Overtime, it gets repetitive because the reply sometimes don't match the question you ask.

I use Janitor AI every now and then, there are some pretty amazing bot characters to interact with. There's one I really like by an author named Dandayi. This author created a system called "Ouroboros" where the {{user}} is transmigrated into another reality. The system assigns you missions to complete alongside the main quest. It's really well-crafted and fun, even if you decide to go for a funny RP instead of aiming for the "true ending." I really liked this author's character Anghel, even though my OC died at his hands quite a few times lol—which actually makes it even more fun, since we basically have to figure out a way to keep him from killing the {{user}}, even when his favorability rating towards her is really low XD. Anghel and Sten that is also by this author are the most entertaining bots I've ever interacted with! I enjoy interacting with bots because I feel like my English vocabulary improves gradually. I sometimes struggle to express myself, so this ends up being fun, especially when I do fantasy or adventure-themed RPs with them XD. I challenge myself to be highly descriptive and write as much as I can, and I even try to avoid words I notice myself overusing because I want to better convey my OCs' feelings. That said, I do get overwhelmed sometimes; it even affects how I play otome games, as I get too tired to properly read or interpret what's happening. In those moments, I try doing something else—like cooking, tidying up, or playing an action game or something silly like Tomodachi Life...

As for chatbots replacing otome games, I think that's highly unlikely. No matter how fun or well-built the bot characters are, there's a limit to their memory, so they end up at some point to lose track of the plot you've been building, which breaks the immersion. Not to mention as others have pointed out that the narratives in otome games are much richer. Besides, there's something so rewarding about gradually learning more about the love interests as the story unfolds. I'm currently playing Homura and just finishing Kamanosuke's route. At the start, I was a bit frustrated with him because I didn't quite grasp his mindset and struggled to pick the answers that would boost his affection or that I thought were the "best" choices in the moment. I honestly thought I was heading for a bad ending at any second XD! But as I progressed, I understood him better; by the halfway mark around Chapter 5 I was able to pick the right answers because I finally got where he was coming from. I don't think chatbots offer that kind of genuine connection with a character. To me, chatbots are more about sparking your imagination and creating your own stories and characters, whereas otome games let you follow an adventure where your decisions shape the out

Your Cold master Hanshen is like that too! It is actually fun to chat with the system and it gives you missions.Hanshen doesn't like you at all in the beginning and the more you progress the story the more he begins to warm to you( or don't actually he may kill you).Otehr than that I didn't find a bot that interested me that much.I will try the bots you suggested.Thank you <3

I have tried a couple of times just out of curiosity, but definitely do not think they can replace otome games. They just dont feel the same...and I think many people would purposely go against it because they do not want ai to replace anything

I don't think so. It like two different vibes to me. Chatbot may have more complexity in dialog (if it still can keep its characters in long run). It's more like speaking with friend that will never open the new topic fro you.
On other hand, Otome game have more immersion about character that will show through the story. This is what I feel about two.

I think AI chatbots are definitely fun, and being able to make a character respond and shape the story however you want can be really entertaining, especially in the short term.

However, I don't think they can replace otome games, at least not right now. Their memory is still very limited, and the stories often feel rather hollow to me. They can give you exactly the kind of interaction you ask for, but there usually isn't much depth or meaningful takeaway behind it.

I think they might be able to replace some lower-budget C- or B-tier games purely in terms of entertainment value, especially if what you're looking for is casual character interaction. But I can't see them replacing A-tier or AAA otome games with complex plots, intricate character relationships, carefully written character development, and genuinely deep emotional impact. Those kinds of experiences come from years of human creativity, writing, direction, voice acting, music, art, etc., all working together.

That said, this is still basically the beginning of the AI era. Who knows what these models will be capable of 10 or 20 years from now? Maybe we'll look back at today's AI chatbots and laugh at how primitive they were.

Tbh, although some otoge fans may be into AI chatbots and the like, I don't think they serve the same purpose. Chatbots are more of a "interact with this character" thing, while otoge are (usually) focused on a romantic narrative, so I'd assume there's no risk of replacement, lol
The average otoge also has many different LIs, while a chatbot will be programmed for a single character most of the time ;b

Not only that, gacha has been replacing otoge for a while now, but still, the otoge VNs kept their niche. It helps that they're commonly available in handheld consoles

I think AI chatbot fills different place of our hobby hearts.
Personally I'm not into chatbots first it might be exciting and new but then kinda gets bored to communicate.
Even I can't communicate or there's no updates with otome game character, they leave me a space to imagine how they are doing as I like and the nice memory of emotion when I played if it makes sense.
Feels like an old pet family you had in the past or Robot pets, they are similar and gives us different joy just not the same category.

If you just want a companion to talk to, then AI chatbots are fine.

But a compelling story... It doesn't satisfy me at all. The characters are out of character after a while, are not consistent and just repeat the same thing :( I'd rather write my own fanfic

I don't think AI chatbots can replace otome games, given their current logic and emotional expression.

Even if the character settings are interesting, they only feel like fleeting sparks – you might be intrigued for a moment, but after a few exchanges, the illusion breaks. Without a human writer's control over emotions and their unique worldview and values, the characters just lack that "human touch."

However, their customizability is a plus, and in that sense, they offer a one‑on‑one experience, so there's still some fun to be had. It really depends on personal preference.d(-_^)

If you just want to have a conversation, it might work, but if you want to be treated like a OTOME, I feel like it would leave something to be desired.

I haven't actually tried AI chatbots yet, although they do make me curious. I feel like maybe they're still not advanced enough for me to find them really interesting, especially when it comes to having a deeper or more coherent story.

But who knows? Maybe in a few years they'll develop enough to create something with the kind of depth and character development I enjoy in otome. I'd definitely be interested in seeing where they go!

tbh AI chats just don't do anything for me... they never feel like actual people, it always feels like I'm literally talking to a machine. I just can't get immersed or excited about it at all lol

Hopefully they don't replace otome games lol! Though I could see future gacha games implement it as a chat box feature though I think it'd be kinda risky too because the Ai could say crazy stuff, trash other players etc lol

As someone who really enjoys otome games, I don't think AI chatbots could fully replace them. Being able to talk freely with a character is fun, but for me, the best part of an otome game is experiencing a carefully written story and watching the relationship develop over time. The emotional moments, character arcs, and romantic scenes are what make these games so special.

AI can create conversations, but it can't completely replace the feeling of experiencing a story that was made specifically to make you fall in love with a character.

I have never tried them, and i doubt it is going to replace otome games. There is a huge difference in a story created by people with love and a chat with a computer that most likely stole material from other works. Then again if people enjoy them then let them have fun.
