What controller do you use to play otome games?

A while ago I bought this really cute 8bitdo zero 2 mini controller to use for otome games and I love it! I can pair it to my PC and my Switch and I configured the buttons so I can hold it vertical in one of my hands like a remote.

It's great for when I'm sat/lying down in a comfortable position and I don't want to use two hands to hold a controller/mouse & keyboard.
I also often play otome games while on my walking pad, and it comes with a wrist strap which is super useful.

I used to pretty much just mouse only before I got this mini controller (sometimes the enter key if I felt like it lol).

How do you guys play your otome games? Do you prefer mouse, keyboard, joycons, pro controller, etc.?

I have a random xbox controller I use for other games on my PC and use it for otome too! It's not wireless but it comes with a long cord, so I can lie down on my bed too if I want to

I prefer using a keyboard, but sometimes I use my rexus gamepad. Well, it's my second one after the first one started drifting and became unusable. I shouldn't have used it to play a soulslike, lesson learned, lol!

I mostly use lightweight handheld devices like Switch Lite to play games, which can be played anytime and anywhere, such as lying in bed or sitting on the sofa. Occasionally, I enjoy playing computer games or using a switch to connect to a large display screen. Playing games with a controller provides a great gaming experience!

Wow, this one is supper cute and looks lightweighted. I own a few handheld game consoles and I like PSV and Switch the most to play otome games because of the screen quality and weight. Steam Deck is a bit too heavy for me, so sometimes I will pair it with a PS controller to play some PC otome games while laying on bed or couch. Super comfy :lapi_peaceful:

Aww your controller's so cute! Might get one for myself someday cuz I kinda want a smaller controller when I play.
But right now, I use a mini wireless keyboard whenever I play on PC and joycons when I play on the Switch. I usually use wireless controllers since I prefer projecting otome games on TV so that I have a bigger screen plus I get to just chill on the sofa

Since I only play on consoles, I always use my default controllers for each (if they have any). But playing on portable consoles is the most fun for me.

The controller is so pretty! Since I mostly play on PC, I generally use the Xbox controller the most. Now that I'm using this, I can't play with a mouse or keyboard anymore. 😂

Awww, that's so cute! Maybe I'll get something like that in the future. Right now I only use my PC. I've been so used to it since I was little that I don't really try anything else. I do have a controller, but I always get confused with the buttons (I think my finger is gonna end up crooked since I only use that one...)

For otomes and VNs I just use the mouse and keyboard due to playing exclusively on PC. I also have an xbox controller, but I just find easier using the mouse.

Cute controller~ I love the colors. As for me, I use my PS4 controller to play games outside mouse/keyboard. Sony controllers have the best form factor for my smaller hands. Been using them since I was a kid.

I usually play otome games on PC, so I use a keyboard and mouse.

This is kinda off topic, but when I play regular games that aren't otome games and need a controller, I usually use my pro controller.

For PC VNs I usually go with mouse and keyboard, but I also have a Switch controller that's compatible with PC, and even though I mostly use it for other type of games, sometimes I use it for otomes too.

Ohhh, I also really like the 8BitDo controllers! These are sooo cute. I use a green Micro one - it also works great with other devices.

I actually mostly use it to read novels on my e-reader (Boox, so it's android based and really, really easy to connect with 8BitDo and remap the buttons as needed lol), but it's great for playing Otome/BL as these do not require heavy interactions :D

I also really liked using my pro controller for PC games!! (before it got stick drift (╥﹏╥))
It's strangely way more comfortable than my dualsense controller.

My only issue was that the button mapping was kinda confusing since a lot of games would display Xbox icons for it and the A/B X/Y buttons would often be swapped around.
I ended modding a lot of my games to display PlayStation icons when my pro controller connected.

OMG I also have a Boox and use my 8bitdo controller on it!!! :D My twin

I often read books/manga on my walking pad and use my controller to flip the pages as I walk.
But I've also seen people use those e-reader stands when they're in bed + a page clicker and it looks so cozy ( ꈍ◡ꈍ)

I primarily play on PC, so I use an Xbox controller. I don't find it uncomfortable to hold, but it's a little big for me, so when I'm playing while sleepy, it sometimes slips from my hand and hits things.
I'm very interested in a small, lightweight, portable controller that I can hold in one hand! However, in my case worried I'd forget or lose it somewhere 😅

I use 8bitdo SN30 pro. I love how small and cute it is and how clicky the buttons are. You can pair it with your switch, steamdeck.

Oooh that's so cute!! <33 I also use an 8bitdo controller for PC but mines the ultimate 2C wireless controller. I used to use my PS4 controller but decided to buy this one because of the much better battery life and the buttons match the ones shown in games (I also game). It's also really convenient, easy to use, and comfy so I love it a lot! The only time I don't use it is if the game doesn't support it so when that happens I go back to using keyboard and mouse.
